42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture
Hi , I recently had the same problem which I was determined to fix . So I did a few weeks of research to find that it was the Y SUS board which burns out. I'm sure you realized that the TV gets hot. Personally I think this is why. circuit boards don't like heat and I've learned that the cooling fans are a joke. I replaced the board and got my picture back. I proved the fan theory because after the screen started to act up. I placed a cooling fan near the vent holes on top and the problem cleared right up,It also helps if you lower the brightness which helps out on the heat situation.I will soon be adding a fan with a temp. sensor. This shoud help if your screen has lines when you initially turn the cool TV on.then I have Some other costless solutions. Hope this helped these are great TV's and like our cars we maintain them not throw them away..................................Mr Wiseman
Same thing happened to us. The TV isnt even three years old and now they say it will cost $1600 to fix. Loud pop and then it went blank and now it wount even turn on.
I have had the same problem with mine. I purchased it in 2006. Heard a loud pop and the screen went dim then blank.
same thing happened to me but i have the 60. it poped and now nothing happens. i took it appart and found 2 really small transistors. the brand of this part is toshiba and the part # is k2837. theres also a lot # under that that reads 3I. it has 3 prongs on each transistor that are soldered into one of the circuit boards. but ya its a 10 dollar part, just need to know how to use a soldering gun
