I believe that the copy you are using is a trial copy. You can try to run a program to get rid of that if you don't feel like paying for a new copy right now. Unless you bought it from a company, then they can get in serious trouble for selling counter fit versions of windows. The name of the program is RWAT or Remove wat. If you have the original Packaging for the Cd's you can call Microsoft and give them the COA seal number and they will provide you with a proper Serial number.
However if you do not have the COA or packaging Microsoft will require you to purchase a Genuine copy to the software.

You can mention which version of Windows and check with Microsoft to see if there is an online update for this. This was a widespread problem at one point and I suspect that you can find the solution using Bing or Google.

If you got it your Windows 7 from a Retailer, then take it back to them, Or call them up for assistance.

Have you tried to use phone support on Registering Windows 7.

Go from there and see what you get.

You will need to activate your copy of Windows 7. Once this is done this message will dissapear. If the activation fails then this means that you may be a victim of software piracy, contact the microsoft support center an Microsoft.com

Did you buy your copy of windows or did some one install it for you?

If its installed by someone else then most probably your windows copy wont be genuine. You can try purchasing a new copy or you can try using windows genuine maker tools. like wga patch
