Many people ask if they can use their digital camera as a webcam. In the early days of digital imaging, it made sense to dual-function a camera because a webcam was a serious investment. However, webcams are now so inexpensive that manufacturers are not considering this functionality important in their digital cameras. In fact even the word 'webcam' creates the impression of bad imaging, so associating this function with a camera actually makes the camera seem 'cheap'.

Your camera is actually quite a new, and a nice camera. It doesn't make a lot of sense for Panasonic to make it work as a webcam, because it's a waste. And in any case, you'd expect a webcam to be powered by a wall outlet or the USB... but most modern cameras like yours don't come with adapter-power, they have battery chargers instead. And they take too much current to use the USB power. By the time they'd added the extras to make it work properly as a webcam, you could BUY a USB webcam separately.

Anyway, back to your question... so, can your camera be used as a webcam? Probably not, but here's how you can tell. Make sure you've installed all the software you can find for your camera, power it up, and plug it in. Windows will tell you if it has a webcam function. If it's a webcam, then it will appear in "My Computer" as a device, right along with all the disk drives. To be sure, go to your control panel and select "Scanners and Cameras". Is your camera listed? If not... it's not a webcam.

In the unlikely event that you have a 'video in' on your computer, and that your camera has a 'video out' then you can follow the instructions on the sony site ("how to use a digital still camera as a webcam"); but most people will not have that yellow 'video in' connection.

Sorry this wasn't the news you really wanted.

How do i use my panasonic dmc-fz28 as a web cam for windows 7

When you buy a webcam, it comes with software and drivers so your computer can use it properly. Did your Lumix come with those things?....I don't think so. Use your Lumix for its intended purpose and go out and buy a webcam for its purpose.

My web cam is not attach my pc so what i do cam no vfo 330

Follow these steps :

•1
Get your webcam.
•2
Now Connect USB via Webcam. Then via PC.
•3
Now you will then have a setup popup so if you have a popup block un block it now and restart your computer.
•4
When computer it restarted you will do the setup. If the setup doesn't come up then check the connection and restart computer
•5
Then when setup is completed then make sure your web cam is up on your computer very stedy. Then do a test before you do a conversation. This is usually to see if you would need any extra lighting or not.
•6
Now enjoy webcam.I would recommend to keep your web cam connected so you wouldn't have to go though this again but if you cant then just reconnect and usually you would be ok.

Can I use Lumix Panasonic DMC-GF1 as a web-cam

No. The DMC-GF1 was designed as a camera, storing to a memory card. It was not designed to stream videos to another device.

Use of digital camera Lumix DMC-LS70 as a web cam.

Hello,
It will not work through USB like a standard webcam. Ls-70 only lets you access camera memory card/onboard memory when connected via USB.
However you could connect the camera video-out socket to a PC with graphics card with video capture function. Some cards with video capture work with skype (check this URL:
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=41101 )
There are also various software solutions which can fool your webchat client into thinking that video capture stream is actually an output of a usb webcam. (Try google for "video capture into skype".
At the moment this seems to be the only easy way to use LS-70 as webcam.

Good luck,

Raf
