If that's the access foor at the back of the printer might just be loose or unlocked. Try locking the door into place and see what happens. Or if you have a duplexer. Try these:

  1. Press the buttons on each side of the duplexer to release it. Figure 7: Press the buttons to release the duplexerI put in new cartridges and the orange light keeps - c02622982.gif
  2. Remove the duplexer from the product.
  3. Reattach the duplexer. Press the buttons on each side of the duplexer, and then gently push the duplexer back into the rear of the product until it snaps firmly into place. SOURCE: Arrow light and Power light keep blinking

take out all the cartridges and the papers..
unplugg the power cable from the printer..
manually slide the carriage from left to right and vice versa and roll the rollers in upward direction from the back after opening the back door..
if doesnt slide or roll..press & hold the power button for 60 seconds and then try again..
clean the inner area of the cartridge slot and the copper contacts of the cartridge with a soft lint-free cloth..
close the back door...
dont put the cartridges..
connect the power cable and power on the printer...
Lights will blink..
Insert one cartridge in the respective slot and close the cartridge door and check if any light blinks..
then remove the cartridge and insert another one and check the same thing..
If light blinks..it will mean the respective cartridge is not good and replace it--

SOURCE: Orange light blinking

The solution above does not work. It only lights up when you remove the ink tank completely and re-click it down. But the moment you close the lid the head slides to the side and that is when something bad happens and the ink tank is no longer lit up. I can push very hard on the PUSH and it does not light up again. I am about to return my printer as well for the same exact problem. Unfortunately, I mail ordered mine so I guess I'm out the shipping and handling charges.

SOURCE: inserted new cartridges..orange light still on

Try re-seating the ink cartridges. A lot of times, the electrical contacts on HP's ink cartridges do not make a solid connection.

SOURCE: my printer has a new ink cartridge but does not recognize the ink

The orange flashing light indicates that you need to replace the ink cartridge thus its is not recognizing the cartridge you bought.Epson recommends the use of genuine Epson ink cartridges. The use of non-genuine ink may cause damage that is not covered by Epson's warranties, and under certain circumstances, may cause erratic printer behavior. Epson cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-genuine ink. The ink cartridge status may not be displayed when non-genuine ink is used. Having said this, these are the correct part number for your printer.

C90
Black T0731/T0911
Cyan T0732/T0912
Magenta T0733/T0913
Yellow T0734/T0914
In replacing the cartridge make sure you also remove the yellow tape before inserting it. When you finished replacing the cartridge and closed the cover, it will charge the ink automatically in about 2 minutes. The only way to check the new cartridge you have inserted is to use the software in checking the ink levels. Accessing the software depends on the OS that you use.

SOURCE: Alarm lights keep blinking after I changed my printer ink.

E5 means cartridges error - to fix press the "stop\reset" button for 5-7 seconds and then release it.

You can also try this:

1) With the printer power turned off but connected to a power source, while pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press and hold the Power button.
(DO NOT release the buttons. The Power LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (DO NOT release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times, and then release both the Power and
Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and Power LEDs light
alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

4) When the Power LED lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the specified number of time(s)according to the function listed in the table below. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the Alarm and
Power LEDs light alternately, Alarm in orange and Power in green, starting with Alarm LED.)

My hp laserjet 1300 printer shows blinking the orange light instead of the green one and I couldn't find out what is the reason

1. Go light/button blinks twice with solid green and orange lights
2. Green light starts blinking with go light twice and then both go off
3. orange light goes off.
4. green light followed by orange light followed by go light cycle twice and a third time by the green light
5.followed by the orange light continuously blinking.

I have already tried the following trouble-shooting:

1. Put in a new cartridge
2. Made sure there is paper properly seated in the tray
3. Made sure all doors closed (I even took off left side to verify no memory cards
4. Verified all doors closed
5. Done a cold reboot by holding the Go button while turning the unit on.
6. Repeated steps 1-5 multiple times.Hope It's resolve all Your Printer Problem,
