jammed and the words"lens cover" appeared on the screen. so far all attempts to free it have been unsuccessfull! {lightly pushing the lense,switched on and off,battery fully charged}
please does anyone know how to solve this problem without having to send it back to the manufacturer.

It sounds like a problem with the firmware in the camcorder itself. As an authorized Sony repair person, I have gotten no technical bulletin on this model. The firmware is preloaded into the microprocessor IC. You will need to have this unit looked at by an authorized Sony repair center who specializes in camcorder repairs or send the unit to a Sony factory service center. good Luck
Hi, Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended. If the camera is still under warranty, before trying any of these, please please first contact your camera's maker to see if they'll cover the repair, or to determine how much they'll charge for the repair. Who knows, you might get lucky. But if they quote you a number that's higher than the value of your camera, you may want to consider the following methods.
Place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to autofocus while the lens is extending, hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins in their slots. Blow compressed air in the gaps around the lens barrels with the idea of blowing out any sand or grit that may be in there jamming the lens. Other variations include blowing with a hair dryer in “no heat” setting, or sucking the gaps with a vacuum (careful with this one). Thank you!
Had a similar problem once. Fixed it by opening the camera and freeing up the lens cover. 1)Undo 2 screws each side and the base (6 in all) ignore the one on the front edge of the base for now. 2)Separate the base from the case (gently!) don't pull them too far apart, because they're joined by ribbon cables. 3)Then remove the long screw you ignored above, and again carefully separate the front panel.from the body. 4) At this point, you should be able to access the back of the lens cover, and free up the mechanism.
Once that' s done, put it back together, reversing the above sequence. Don't force anything, just make sure they're all lined up and fit before inserting the screws.
Your PS2 lens is faulty or it is physically jammed in it's metal rod which stops the lens to move smoothy. you better open the PS2 console and observe it offline for jam. or replace the lens with a new one.
Water + Phone = BAD !
Your phone is most likely damaged beyond repair if its been out for a swim.
It sounds like its got some corrosion inside, when its turning off by itself.
Most water-hazards is to costly to repair in comparison to getting a new phone, so your phone might work for now, but it wont get any better with time.
The switch on the back-cover can be repaired with som super-glue and a little handy-work.
Allthough if its the switch on the phone itself you've got a problem, since its soldered in.
Then you need to take the phone in for repairs by a pro.
the problem of your camera is the flexwire cable of the lcd monitor that why you don't see nothing in the panel,Also the message 'cover is not open' appears,while the cover is already opened the switch on cover have poor contact..it is not covered by sony service...it have to replace or repair that switch and flexwire cable....
