Locking/Unlocking Banks
When you are scanning conventional banks, the scanner displays the digit corresponding to
all unlocked banks. To lock out a bank so that the scanner does not scan its channels, press
the letter that corresponds to the bank. The bank's letter disappears from the display.
To unlock locked-out banks, simply press that bank's letter again. The bank's letter
appears on the display and the scanner includes that bank when scanning.
Note: You cannot lock out all banks. One bank must be unlocked at all times.
Locking/Unlocking Channels
To lock out a channel so that the scanner does not stop on it while scanning, press L/O
when the scanner is stopped on that channel, or manually select the channel and press L/O.
To unlock the channel, manually select it and press L/O again.
Restoring All Locked Out Channels
You can restore all locked-out channels in a bank only when the bank is selected for scan.
Follow these steps to restore all locked-out channels in a bank.
1. If you de-selected the bank, press SCAN then press the bank's letter.
2. Press MANUAL.
3. Hold down L/O for about 2 seconds. The scanner beeps twice and unlocks all
To delete a stored frequency, press 0 then press E. Channels with no frequencies are automatically locked out hope this helps
hello You can unlock all locked out channels in any bank at one time. To do
this, first press a bank key to start scanning. Then press [HOLD] to stop
scanning. Press and hold down [L/O] ("L/O" appears on the screen) for
more than 2.5 seconds until you hear the multi-beep ("L/O" disappears).
Now all locked out channels in the bank are unlocked and restored for scanning hope this helps you cheers
To remove lockout on all channels, do the following: Press scan Turn on all banks that you want to clear lockout on. Press hold. Press func Press AND HOLD L/O until the radio beeps twice.
You didn't mention what the scanner is doing when that display pops up, but here are two possible fixes.
With the scanner powered ON, - Press HOLD to stop scanning - Press FUNC - Press and hold L/O until the scanner beeps twice. This will clear all locked out channels.
For a COMPLETE reset, - Turn the scanner power OFF - Turn the scanner power ON while pressing and holding the 2, 9, and HOLD keys - After about 3 seconds the display will show CLEAr. CAUTION: the above will clear/erase all information that you have programmed into the scanner, including frequencies, and reset the scanner to the original factory settings.
A full RESET or CLEAR function is not a feature on the BC92XLT, but you don't need it. To reprogram a channel just enter the new frequency (with decimal point) and press the E (Enter) key. In case you need it, here's a link to the owners manual for your scanner:
foursons, have you tried resetting the scanner yet. On pg 47 it mentions about turning banks of channels on or off. Possibly some banks got turned off. Resetting the scanner starts on Page 53. I hope this helps somehow, and good luck with it,, Mechanic
If it just seems to be "stuck" on static, you probably need to adjust the Squelch. Try turning the squelch down until the static stops.
If you haven't programmed any frequencies into the banks, scanning won't do anything. Press "Func" and "Scan" to perform a Search. This way, if you find a frequency with a lot of chatter, you can program it into a bank for scanning later.
The easiest thing to do is to find frequencies for your local police, fire, etc. on the internet & program them into the various banks on the scanner.
