My projector said the lamp needed fixed. So I bought new one and it still said the same thing

if you replace the old by new one, and NOT light, the problem is power unit(ballast) inside , you must go to the repair shop . Merry Christmas

My projector has had a new bulb intsalled comes on for 4 seconds and shuts down?

Did you use a genuine bulb ? Clones perform very bad.
Problem can be also inside the ballast unit ( lamp supply)
These units should be replaced completely, repair is even for experienced technicians 100% impossible.

I have a Sanyo plc-xt25 LCD Projector and when I plug my ac cord in, the fans turn on but no lamp comes on. I changed the lamp and still no picture. What do I do?

Every projector lamp is equipped with ballast. The problem area is ballast. Either the ballast is not getting DC supply or the lamp turn ON signal from the projector main board or the ballast is faulty. Remove the lamp. Connect the projector to the mains supply. Check the voltage at the lamp connector inside the projector without turning it ON. It should be around 65 volts A/C. (Warning: Multimeter will get damaged if the projector power is turned ON due to generation of high voltage) If you find this 65 volts then it confirms that it has DC supply & the ballast is functioning. The ballast receives the the turn ON signal from microcontroller through opto-coupler on the ballast. The ballast opto-coupler can be checked by providing external 5V DC supply between pin 3 (+ve) & 4 (-ve) in turn switches ON the lamp. If this works then there is no problem with your lamp & ballast. The problem lies with the main board. If this does not solve your problem then give me the feedback.

I have a dell 3300MP projector. When starting up the Dell logo is displayed fine. After about 1 minute the unit goes to a solid amber temp light status. Projector display turns off. Unit shows...

Make sure the cooling fan is working and air is reaching the light source, you can hear it running (low whirling noise) when you turn it on, if not that is the problem.

Nec lt380 changed lamp for new one still doesnt work?

If the unit is powering up but the lamp is not igniting, most likely there is a problem with the ballast.(Ballast is the circuit that starts and then maintains lamp current) When starting the projector, it is sometimes possible to look directly into the lens and see small "lightning" flashes. This is the high voltage ignition current trying to start an electrical arc in the lamp. You can also hear a "clicking" sound--same thing. If the ballast is defective, the unit must be repaired at a facility--send it in directly--not through a store. If the unit is totally dead(no lights at all), there usually is a main fuse located near the power cord(inside the unit) that blows. If you've never had tech training, don't attempt to open the unit--it is very easy to accidentally damage components unless you know exactly how to remove the top cover.

The Lamp won't strike

if the inside of the lamp has bulges, black spots or fogging, replace the lamp. otherwise, if you have a dlp projector, it may be the colorwheel or the ballast. if you have an lcd projector, it may be the ballast.
