The touch screen is loose on the right side, so there is a small gap between the stainless "shell" over the buttons and the touch screen. In addition, when the oven is running, there is a hum that sounds like something is vibrating in that same area. How can I remove the "shell" over the buttons and screen to access this? I can see that there are hooks that slide into slots on the left side next to the door, but it seems very much attached on the right side.

How do you access the light bulb in a Magic Chief Microwave MCD1611W

https://www.justanswer.com/appliance/9q0am-change-light-bulb-model-mcd1611-w-microwave.html

Quoting from link:

"Unfortunately the microwave will need to be taken apart to replace the bulb. You'll need a size T-20 safety torx bit screwdriver to remove the screws coming in from the back of the microwave around the right left and top edges. Start by unplugging the microwave. Then remove all the screws going into the outer shell and then the outer shell will pull straight back, up, and off. Now you have access to the bulb on the right side of the microwave cavity so you can replace it. The reason Magic Chef did this was because it forces you to unplug the microwave. Before they allowed you to change it by just opening the door and people wouldn't unplug the microwave which would cause the display board to short out when you replaced the bulb."

How do I repair touch buttons

Usually those buttons are on a separate small board. Sometimes that board breaks loose from it's support tabs; other times the buttons just go bad with age and use, and you need to replace that button board.

How do i get the panel off to get to the touch pad maytag mmv4203db00

Remove the cover that makes up the microwave shell. There should be screws in the back that hold it on. Once free of the base just pull the cover off to the side. The Control Panel should now be exposed. I pulled up the schematic at "Sears Parts Direct" and don't see any screws holding the pad in place so it appears to be a snap fit connector at the top of the pad that it mates to. You should be able to press the plastic snap fit to dislodge it. Otherwise you'll need a small flat blade screwdriver at the top to unlock the latch mechanism. Lightly press down and it should just pop off.

Two places to search for the schematics is searspartsdirect.com or appliancepartspro.com.

Hope this helps.

Hello. I just received a new Glass Touch ASM (WB27T10875) for my GE stove. My previous one cracked and needed to be replaced. Problem: While installing/ connecting the ASM to the stove, once I connect the...

Funniest thing. I was having the very same problem on Monday. Every time I laid the glass touch panel down on the stove, it stopped working but worked when I held it up. After failing to install the panel so it would work for 30 minutes, I walked away from it and ate dinner. Coming back later, I decided my problem was the connections on the back side were coming into contact with the metal so I placed a tightening knob in the center of each of the outside holes making sure the underside of the knob went exactly into the middle of the hole. I then lowered the left side of the panel down to where the threads started and very carefully partially tightened the left knob so none of the panel back touched the stove. I then lowered the right side until the knob touched the knob and tightened that side finger tight. I keep testing the buttons to make sure they were still working. When the out side knobs were finger tight, I finger tightened the 2 inside knobs. Success. My oven is now working.

Can't eliminate small gap between cabinet bottom and top of microwave

If the new oven was installed according to its installation instructions, new hardware was used, new holes were drilled (into properly supported wood structure) and the opening matched the specs outlined in the instructions, it should fit.

If not, it seems like that would have been evident as you went along.

I would first retrace my steps along with the instructions, not making any assumptions, and that will probably reveal the error.

The 5 "buttons" on the right side of the control

The button pad is usually connected to the control board with a ribbon connector. They can become slightly loose, with vibration, over time. If you open the unit up, you will see where it is...it will be near the control panel. Detatch it and reconnect it. If it's a different system connecting the panel to the board, check any wire connections (disconnect and reconnect, ensuring they're tight), or solder joints for cracks, or cold solder joints (coudy looking joints, not shiny).
It could be a bad component, but since it's recurring, it's either an underengineered control panel, or a bad connection of some type.
Inspect it carefully, reconnecting any loose connections.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

I accidentally covered a plate with foil in the microwave. there was Arcing (no fire) and now there is black marks etched where the foil touched the sides. The cavity seems unharmed though, it seems if I...

Sometimes the arcing itself will cause black marks inside the oven. The places where the foil was melted, (touching), likely left small metal deposits, possibly now, impregnated in the surface. It is important to remove these if possible to avoid further arcing. Remove these then test to make sure the oven is functioning properly. If so, continue to use.

I have a Sharp Carousel microwave model R438DV 1200 watts. There is a small 5x7 screen on the right side wall. It now has a small hole and has char marks on it. When I use the unit a fire starts o

You have to replace that small screen which is called wave guide. If there is a sharp authorised service centre near to your place you can buy the part from them. Do not work the oven without replacing that part.
