I have a problem with my acer aspire one.. i can only open it when it is plug in a charger but when i remove the charger it will turn off also.. what will i do? will i buy a new battery then?

Remove the battery and plug in the Cord/charger, will it boot? If no, try another Cord/Charger with the EXACT same power specs. Replace battery if necessary.

Probably you provided more than enough power to the computer and it some of the fuses or capacitors are burned out. But maybe this is not the case. Try to remove the battery, remove the hard drive, remove the RAM. Put these parts and your laptop on the table. Avoid placing them on the carpet or blanket as these wil produ2e static electricity that damages computer chips. Leave your laptop in this state for about 30min. Recone the parts, put the right charger and restart your computer

There are 3 possible reasons for that problem.

1. Battery is dead or is not seated properly. Try removing the battery from your laptop and then replace it back. If the battery is dead, it will not charge anymore. If it is still under warranty, ask for a replacement.

2. Charger is malfunctioning. Try to plug it into a different know working plug outlet. You might need to replace the charger with a new one.

3. Motherboard issue. Needs servicing.

You need trial and error to know exactly which of those is the reason why your Laptop is malfunctioning. Try a different charger/battery BEFORE buying one.

Dear, Remove the battery and plug-in the power cable to the laptop and then start it. If it do start, then there is a problem with battery.
I m sure your laptop is under warranty. Please go to service center.

the battery might be hosed up will it boot without the battery and just plugged to ac - if it wont boot from ac with the battery remover send it to acer

Your power supply or regulator in you laptop has gone south. sorry no quick fix for this one. It needs repaired and would include tracking down soldered connections.

Try another charger. If it turns on and chargers the unit you are currently using needs to be replaced. Do not leave your charger plugged in after charging your battery as this will shorten its life.

Remove the keyboard first, there may be screws holding the case together under the keyboard.
Make sure you first remove all the battery and drives etc. there are usually screws in these areas that secure the case together.
The top and bottom parts of the case are held together by plastic clips. The best way to open the case is to start at an opening and gently spread apart the case until the clip releases and then continue along that edge and gradualy continue working along the other edges of the case.
