How to install Verizon 7500 DSL Router !

Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet jack of the computer. Connect it to one of the LAN ports on the back of the router.

Connect the telephone cord to the telephone jack on the back of the router. Connect the other end to a working telephone jack.

Power on the computer and the router.

Insert the installation CD into the computer's CD drive. Double-click on the installation icon that should appear on the screen.

Select the SSID for the router when prompted. It should be printed on the back of the router.

Enter the security password when prompted; it also is printed on the back of the router. Open a web browser to connect to the Internet.

Connect DLink WBR 2310 Router to another router(Verizon 7500 DSL), please follow the steps below:

1. Plug the power into the router. Connect one of your computers to the router (LAN port) using an Ethernet cable. Make sure your IP address on the computer is 192.168.0.xxx (where xxx is between 2 and 254). Please see the Networking Basics section for more information. If you need to change the settings, write down your existing settings before making any changes. In most cases, your computer should be set to receive an IP address automatically in which case you will not have to do anything to your computer.

2. Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter. When the login window appears, set the user name to admin and leave the password box empty. Click OK to continue.

3. Click on Advanced and then click Advanced Network. Uncheck the Enable UPnP checkbox. Click Save Settings to continue.

4. Click Setup and then click Network Settings. Uncheck the Enable DHCP Server server checkbox. Click Save Settings to continue.

5. Under Router Settings, enter an available IP address and the subnet mask of your network. Click Save Settings to save your settings. Use this new IP address to access the configuration utility of the router in the future. Close the browser and change your computer's IP settings back to the original values as in Step 1.

6. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and reconnect your computer to your network.

7. Connect an Ethernet cable in one of the LAN ports of the router and connect it to your other router. Do not plug anything into the WAN port of the D-Link router.

8. You may now use the other 3 LAN ports to connect other Ethernet devices and computers. To configure your wireless network, open a web browser and enter the IP address you assigned to the router. Refer to the Configuration and Wireless Security sections for more information on setting up your wireless network.

I assme you have a DSL or cable modem from Comcast and this is connected to the wall. The LAN cable from this modem should now be connected to the WAN/Internet port on the DLink wireless router.
To secure your wireless network please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Xplornet Sat. connection and D-Link WBR-2310

Can you get a pc to connect to the internet? If you can, what IP address does HUGHES assign? If it is in the range of 192.168.0.X then change the DEFAULT GATEWAY address of the router to something like 192.168.10.1 (out of the box it should be set to 192.168.0.1)

D-link WBR-2310 has serious drop out problems

I'm pretty sure that downgrading the firmware to 1.0.3 will work. I had been running at this level for quite some time and for some reason I decided to upgrade to the latest version which started the problems for me. I am downgrading to this now and I expect better results. All of the firmware versions are available at http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=470&sec=0. You pick the right hardware revision. PLEASE NOTE: Save off/remember your settings as when you change the firmware it resets all of them back to system defaults.

My router is not working properly

Not yet you can still try to reset and reconfigure that router , so better call DLink tech support and ask them to troubleshoot this router and I belive it will still work..

Dlink router

what is your connection to the dlink router look like, plz define. If you think your connection settings are fine then try resetting (do this if you do not care about the settings on the router) the router to default settings by depressing the small hole at the back of router for few seconds and it will refresh the router to default settings. Try connecting now to an ethernet cable and it should work if not then you have to go into router settings and match the ISP provided settings for modem to work in the router configuration. For going into the router make sure you have the manual for it:
http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=478&sec=0
select the model and download the manual as well as any firmware.
Hope that helped
