Whirlpool refridgerator is leaking water on the freezer side (side by side refridgerator) onto the floor. The ice machine was overflowing with ice and has frozen ice in the ice maker that won't budge. We...

WAS IT LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FROM BOTTOM OF FRIDGE? ONCE IN A WHILE YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE ICE BIN AND DUMP ICE OUT AND CLEAN IT. HOW CAN THE ICE MACHINE OVERFLOW WITH ICE WHEN THE ICE IN THE TRAY WON'T BUDGE? NEED CLARIFICATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD ICE MAKER MODULE OR THE SOLENOID FOR THE ICE ON THE WATER VALVE IS BAD.

Our Hotpoint side by side refridgerator, the ice/water not workin

It sounds like you have a failing relay/valve that wont stay open when current is passed through them, check there first otherwise your control board could have water/heat damage remove inspect and if necessary replace let me know how it goes :)

Power Consumption Refridgerators

I have a 10KW stik welder/generator. I have no problem running a large freezer and 2 fridges except for the startup current draw. I have a $300 transfer switch connected to a 60amp sub panel with current meters on each leg. I have to watch the current draw and turn on & off breakers. I do have to play the "green acres" game because I have the water heater, well pump, and kit ckt all connected as well. Coffee machine, toaster, oil furnace, microwave all have to take turns as well as the water heater(4500WATTS). Cost was about$3500 in 2001 and $600 for a generator shed. lots of my labor. Last time we lost power it payed for itself. 28 hours without a generator would have been a trip to a hotel and lots of spoiled food to dump. hot shower and coffee anytime a big +

GE refridgerator

If the unit has an ice maker or water dispensor, etc. there's always a chance a connection is loose or a valve is leaking by. If no other water is hooked up to the refer, then the defrost cycle water that should drain down to the bottom underneath pan is what is likely. You may have to take the inside rear panels off to see if the drain line is plugged up, that would allow water from the defrosting of the coils to drip inside the fridge vice outside like it should.
