I need to know what type of internal fuse is used on the pyramid pa1000x circuit board. I know it is 5mm x 20mm, 8a 250v; but not whether it is slow or fast blow. No markings on it to indicate the specific type.

There is an 8amp 250v 5mm x 20mm ceramic slow blow fuse on the power supply board inside the TV. The picture below shows the board with the fuse circled in yellow. If you had a big enough power surge it may have damaged other parts of the power supply beyond the fuse. Look for burn marks on the power supply board when you replace the fuse. The main power fuse for most amplifiers is a fast blow, 125 volt fuse for the US and a 250v fuse in countries with 220v. This unit is 125 watt so the main fuse should be 2 amps or so. The correct fuse size is written on the circuit board next to where the internal fuse was located.
Any decent electrical shop should have those fuses. They tend to come in 20mm and 30mm lengths. You will need to know which. Also there are fast blow and slow blow fuses. If you have the originals and you can see the remains of a coil then you want slow blow. Otherwise just replace them with fast ones. The 1.2 amp fuse can be replaced with a 250 volt fuse.
So you want a 250ma 250v fuse.
and a 1.2A 250v fuse.
Check the internal fuse. 8 Amp 5mm x 20mm. May difficult to find locally- not carried by R Shack. I just soldered an in-line 3AG fuseholder to the existing circuit board fuseholder, and that works fine. RJD
Just replace the fuse, I just did it today (3/6/10). Unf. Radio shack only had an 8A slow-burn fuse so I used that for now but the fridge is working. I nuked the leads on the fuse so I soldered on some of the lead of a thermal fuse that I also got at Radio Shack (I just used the leads and tossed the fuse). I also put the fuse inside of a harness in case it needs to be replaced again, no soldering. Good luck!
Yes T1 stands for fuse One. The fuse is a 2.5amp at 250volts. The only thing you need to work out now is if it's a Quick blow or Slow Blow type. Sometimes you can still see the remains of the wire that's gone on the old one. This is your best clue to it. If it is a single wire it's a Quick, if you can see a coil then it's the other.
If in doubt use a Quick blow type.
the fuse will always blow if there is a shorted component. the horizontal output transistor may be the most likely culprit, if you are not a technician, have it service by a qualified one.
