Deleting photos from camera

If it's not deleting all your photos you may have a setting in your menu features that allow you to overwrite earlier photos if your card gets full.

YOU WILL NEED TO DO SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM MOULTRIE

You've protected your photo(s). Select "Protect" from the Setup menu to remove the protection before deleting the photo(s).

You will have to delete some photos.
If your current storage is set to memory card, you have to set it to internal memory before deleting photos.
Use the delete function in the camera menu.

Two possible solutions.

1. Apple users have reported that the switch on the memory cards performs the file lock function in either extreme positions Lock/Unlock. In some cases they have achieved success in centering the Lock/Unlock switch allowing access to the read/write operation of the memory card

2. Connect to PC
Access drive via windows explorer
Right click on drive (MEMORY CARD)
Select properties
Confirm that RO (Read Only) is not selected.
Selected RO
Try reading card
Repeat properties un-select RO
Try deleting files

If not successful card is likely defective

try formating internal memory and external memory.

Suggestion is to format the memory card and permanently delete all of the images from it. The card should then be able to be reused and you can start taking images again. To format the card go to Menu - setup and press ok - go to format and press ok - go to yes and press Ok. This will clear the card and you are back in business.

Most digital cameras have a menu which will let you DELETE ALL or FORMAT the card or the internal memory (when the card is removed... many cameras have no internal memory).

You did not mention in the post what kind of camera you have. The small point and shoot Nikons all have an internal menu to either format or delete all the pictures or delete one at a time. Usually the one at a time delete can be accessed from any record mode when you go to the quick or review menu. The more detailed menu is accessed when the camera is in the record mode of any kind then go to the menu or setup menu, from there you will see the delete or erase all and the format card option.

Hi, In your camera's menu/set-up, there is a function to "Format". This will format the memory and effectively delete all its contents. Alternately, since the digicam will be recognized by the PC as an external Removable Mass Storage/Device, displaying the contents is identical to opening a folder. Ctrl + A is to select all contents of the digicam's memory "Del" is to delete. Hope this be of some help/idea.
