Here's the procedure. This code is normally encountered after refilling an ink cartridge and replacing the cartridge. Turn off printer. Hold down Stop/Reset button with one hand and turn printer on with other hand. After green light comes on for the ON button, press the Stop/Reset button two times and you should see the green light blink off and the orange alarm light blink "on" with the first press and then the green light comes back on for the power button and the orange light goes off with the second press (if you did it correctly). Now, you need to hold down the ON button about five seconds, then let go to shut OFF the printer. When you turn it back on, the printer should be back to the factory original condition. Make sure you set all your printer properties the way you want them again from your printer properties dialog boxes because some of the settings may have been stored in the printer's EEPROM, which you just reset to get rid of the offending alarm code.

I have thrown away 2 mp250 canon printers for error 0,4 and 0,5I,ve been searching this solution in Spanish, were very confusing, and I switched to find the solution in English, and this is the most clear I´ve found, really worked for me, flawlessly, I really really thank you, ¿¿ Do you have something for error code 0,5 ????. Once again thank you very much.

When you receive a Canon Printer Error Code 5200, it can be an exasperating situation. Here is a simple solution to help you solve the problem so you can get back to work.

Canon Printer Error 5200appears mainly due to low ink levels and also because there is a faulty cartridge or problem with the logic board in the printer.

REPAIR PIXMA PRINTER WITH 5200 ERROR:

This is all a scam by Canon to get you to buy more of THEIR ink cartridges. If they or one is empty you replace them your printer will work. If you use only black (with color turned off)and fill your black as I do follow this:

Step 1: Turn your printer off
Step 2: Hold down the reset button while pressing the on button.
Step 3: while still holding down the on button release the reset button then press the reset button twice.
Step 4: Release the on button it will flash and 0 will appear in the window. then press the reset button 4 times and the on button twice. Wait and the printer will turn off.
Step 5: Turn the printer back on let it go thru its stuff. You can now print.

Follow Steps & mentioned the blog to get a righteous Solution.
