The TV resolution is set by the video sources, not at the TV, in this case, your Dish network box is the one that is sending out 480p so the TV will display what it is being fed with.
What does Dish TV say aboyt this problem? How about the setup menu on the Dish network box?
Your TV works the same as your PC monitor, except that your monitor does not have a tuner, you adjust the resolution at the PC not at the monitor. 480p in = 480p display.

Please leave rating if it helps.

Insignia 42 lcd hdtv purple pink screen

If DVD input works likely a issue with the signal.

If using a cable or sat box or even a receiver inline--unplug each and after several minutes plug back up to allow each unit to try to reboot.

If using component connections from box or receiver they may be the issue or not. In that case if a box is feeding signal via component or even HDMI the box (if reboot does not fix this) may be bad.

Another simple test if cable is used with a box is disconnect cable going to the box and connect directly to set--that way you will know if box is or is not the problem.

What kind of HDMI cord do I need to purchase for this TV, I am running DISH Network also. Thanks!

There is only one type of HDMI cable, so any HDMI cable should be fine. Component cables are an alternative to HDMI cables, but keep in mind that component cables do not carry audio, so you will need to have the audio connected separately. Our HD receivers work great with HDMI or component cables.

Insignia 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - High-Gloss Black Picture is too big for screen ,cut off all around, top, bottom and sides. Can't read things on screen, heads cut off etc. I've gone through...

try checking the menu setting on your Dish Network, there may be a television format in that menu set up, if it is only when a dvd player is playing, then check the format on that, so on so forth... that is one place to start, check if it is local (TV) or if it is from attached component ( Dish dvr/ dvd etc). also refer to your owner's manual.. if all else fails, call customer service @ insignia
