The ignitor will be attached to the burner. Usually 2 quarter inch screws. Of course the ignitor has a harness that runs to the safety valve. You can either cut the wires and connect the new ignitor using ceramic wire nuts or you can follow the harness down. It's easier sometimes just to splice the wires and wire nut it, using the ceramic wire nuts. Catriver

How do I replace igniter in Maytag Admiral AGD4475TQ1 gas dryer?

First, you may have to turn off & disconnect the gas line and line-bracket to the dryer (rear of dryer) (because the manufacturer saved by excluding a shut-off valve & disconnect in the unit). Disconnect the cable connector to the valve. Remove the screw(s) on the bracket holding the gas valve/burner/ignitor/etc.CAREFULLY slide the valve/burner assembly out of the unit. CAREFULLY remove the ignitor and replace (part # 279311). Re-assembly in reverse order.

Flow plug

even though the ignitor seems to glow bright orange,it still maybe weak,as in not enough current to open the gas valve,an easy test is to just swap out or interchange the broiler ignitor and bake ignitors and see if this takes care of your issue on the lower bake side as most units use the identical ignitor for each upper and lower manifolds and the gas valve supplies both the bake and broiler manifolds depending on which you choose to use bake or broil

Oven wont lite. broiler is ok. why? is this something i can fix myself?

Hello- Gas ranges have ignitors that light the burners. The lower burner is accessable by removing bottom pan in oven. Ignitor is held in place by two screws. Connector is plugged in behind bottom drawer. Check resistance of ignitor - should be 4ohms or higher. Sometimes they just break. New part available thru local app. parts. 50-75$. Be careful installing new part- ceramic ignitors are fragile. Take your time- toughest part is reaching in to do work. Hope this helps.- Thanks- ED

Gas broiler won't light

jumptrout51 is correct with the the round ignitor. Using a clamp on digital ampmeter, you should see the amperage use go from zero to at least 2.5 amps after you turn on the broil, then gas valve should open. (the flat ignitors actually require at least a 3.2 amp minimum) Very unlikely the electronic control has anything to do with your problem. Low voltage is not real likely if the oven ignitor is working. Most likely you have a bad ignitor or a poor electrical connection.

GE gas range model JGBS10BEH2BB oven and broiler

you need to check the ignitor even if the ignitor glows it might not be pulling enough amps to call for gas replace the ignitor and this should take care of the problem

Broiler works, oven settings - no flame, no heat.

Hi, it sounds like the oven ignitor might be bad. Remove the floor panel inside the oven and you will see the ignitor attached to the burner assembly. Turn the oven on and see if it glows. You can test the connection for the ignitor and see if it gets 120V to it. The most common problem with the gas oven is the ignitor. Most of the time, the ignitor glows but is not strong enough to open the gas valve.
Please let me know if this was helpfull or if I can assist you further.

Thanks
Vic

Broiler doesn't lite, no gas going to pilot

Most cases Broiler ignitor is out, after you turn on the Broiler, check the voltage on Broiler ignitor 2 wires, if you have approx. 110v, then change the ignitor, but you don't have 110v, then check Broiler safety valve and oven thermostat, but 90% of the time is the Broiler ignitor. Have fun.

Gas leaks into oven when i turn on the broiler

You have what we called delay ignition. may be the broiler ignitor too far away from broiler, partially clogged broiler orifice or bad ignitor, I"ll check the Amperage on the ignitor, it should draw above 3 AMPs, if not, then I'll change the ignitor first then check the orifice. Have fun.

Broiler has gas burning problem

clean all the broiler burner ring holes with toothpicks then clean the burner ring with dishwashing soap and, rinse with clear water. wait until dry then: try the broiler again; sometimes the holes the gas comes out of gets plugged with grease and the burner ring/rod makes a whoshing sound when the excess gas pressure builds up and the gas escapes the burner ring all at once then the cycle begins again
