Just re-filled cartridges in my canon pixma mp180. Put them back into the printer but it is still showing error messages of black and colour ink low. When printing something out, the black does not print at all and the colour isn't very good. Have tried all the maintenance options on the printer. It is giving a printer head alignment error but don't know how to fix this and can't understand why the cartridges won't register as now being full.
Any suggestions?
I have the same problem as tinsel10. Any solutions yet
I have an mp170 all in one and when you fill the cartriges they dont show up as full cannon put a chip in the cartridge to con people into buying new ones try siting the cartridges in warm water for a few hours then blot the cartridge with tisue paper if it dont blot out the ink the cartride is finnished and you need a new one .To align the cartridge you flick through the menu on the printer not pc screen look for alignment page print this off then you have to pick the dark boxes on the sheet shade the bit next to it and put on your scan bed and click ok it should scan the sheet and reset the alignment
I just replaced both the black and color cartridges (empty) with new replacement cartridges - Office Max brand. I couldn't get any e-mails or documents to print, although I could get ink on paper when running the Nozzle Check and Print Head Allignment. That doesn't make sense!
I e-mailed Canon Tech Support and was told to use only Canon cartridges. I bit the bullet, went out and bought another black cartridge - this time Canon brand, installed it ,and my printer now works - including color printing.
The color cartridge is still office Max brand. My printer now says I have black ink, but still says the color ink is low (even though it's full).
Conclusion: The Canon printer only works properly with Canon cartridges!

My Canon PIXMA MP180 worked fine with cartridges refilled at Cartridge World until now, tho' I've had to get used to the status monitor showing them as empty. This time, however, after printing several photographs yesterday, today when I tried to use it I got the 'ink not recognised' message, and now it won't work. I know we're advised to only use Canon cartridges but they're so b--------- expensive! Also, my waste ink tank is showing as 'full' on my i250 (tho' that's another story) so I've got two useless Canon products sitting on my desk at the moment! Very frustrating!
print is coming out in lines of pale pink! i have a new black cartridge and an empty colour cartridge in the printer. i can't find any instructions to align the print heads - could this be the problem?
