I have a Belkin FSD7234-4 V4. MY main computer connects to the internet without a problem. When I try to use my laptop it is only finding one network which is asking me for a passphrase. Either it is not picking up my router and ispicking up another one. Or I need to find out the passphrase.

SOURCE: passphrase for home network with a d-link di524 wireless router

well the default username is admin and the default password is nothing (blank). that is to get into your router settings. if that don't work then just reset the router by the reset button on the back of the router, this will reset all the settings to default and then you can use the default username and password. or if you just want the manual then here you go - ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di524/Manual/DI-524_manual_06292005.zip

SOURCE: wireless ready laptop not getting connected to internet through belkin router

You may want to check if the wireless switch is "ON"
on the laptop most wireless ready laptops has either a
button or toggle switch to enable the wireless radio..
if it's already enabled and you still cant connect to
the wireless network, try changing the wireless channel
from the router.

SOURCE: lost network key on belkin router with virgin broadband

the easiest would be to login to the router and set another network key.
if you're unable to login you'll have to reset the router and reconfigure it.

SOURCE: Security key/ passphrase

The easiest workaround for this is to connect your laptop to the D-Link
with an ethernet cable.

Make sure your laptop IP address is configured for the same subnet
(example: 192.168.0.9)
Open your browser and go to http://192.168.0.1

Default username: user
Default password: (blank)

(This is of course assuming that you did not change your
default username/password)

Once you're in, change the passphrase to anything you want.

My laptop usually has no trouble connecting to a wireless router. I have just tried to connect to a friend's Belkin *which is not locked" and it asks me for a pin code - got the pin code of the bottom...

Hi,

To connect to the network in your laptop without entering a PIN code, please follow these steps.

1. Connect the computer to the router with an ethernet cable in one of the grey slot in the router.

2. Open up internet explorer and clear the address bar and type in http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter.

3. You will find a belkin router setup page, In the left hand side under the heading Wireless click on Wifi Protected Setup

4. When it asks you for a password leave it blank and click on submit.

5. There change Wifi Protected setup to disabled and click on apply changes.

6. Then in your laptop connect to the wireless network without any PIN number.

Belkin router can't connect to internet

This is part solution, part clarification request: When you say that you installed the setup software on your laptop, setup software for which: the modem, or the belkin router? Also what type of internet service do you have - Cable? DSL? If you are not sure, list your ISP. What operating systems do you have on your laptop and your main computer?

You say that you connected the modem to your main computer - I am assuming that you mean that you connected your modem with a network or ethernet cable (the one with a connector that looks similar to but larger than a telephone's connector) to your computer's ethernet card, or NIC, port. Is anything connected by ethernet cable to the Belkin router? If you have not connected the modem directly to the router, it will not connect to the internet, and anything connecting to the Belkin router will not be able to access the internet as well.

Try this: disconnected the power from your modem, then disconnect power from your router, and disconnect any ethernet cables from computer & modem, or computer and router. Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the Belkin Router. (Ensure that you have plugged in the ethernet cable on the router into a port that is either set aside from others, or indicates "Internet", WAN, or something similar - it should be marked either with a different color, labled, or both). Now power on your modem. Wait until you see a steady "ready" light, green ethernet light, or the light usually lit for that model indicating it has completed its bootup tests and the internet connection is ready.
Next, ensure the ethernet cable is connected from the modem to correct WAN or "internet" port on the Belkin Router, then power up the router. Once the router boots up completely, plug in a cable from your computer's (main computer) NIC or ethernet card or port, to a port on the Belkin Router (there should be more than one port available, generally numbered "1, 2, 3" and so on - in a group, seperate from the WAN or internet port). Once you are sure you have the cable plugged into one of the correct ports, and if you have windows, restart your main computer.

Now on your main computer, check to see if you have an internet connection. If you do, you can now resume running the router's software setup on your laptop, which sounds as though it was walking you thru the setup process to connect you via wireless connection to the internet. Report back if you have any success, or if you have any further problems, and best of luck! Hope that info helps

Dont have cd to run for my laptop belkin f5d7234-4 v4 router what do i do to make it work with my laptop???

If this is the only computer that you are trying to connect then you will need to set up the router from the start.
If the router is already working and there are one or more computer online already then you just need to connect to the network on the laptop.
Is it a wireless laptop or it will be connected to the router with the cable ?

If it is wireless then you will need to connect to the wireless network.

Cant connect belkin 54g router to internet

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Belkin 54 Wireless Internet Connection Problems

Hello,

If wireless adapter on the laptop is fairly old, you may need to update the drivers for the wireless adapter. Some older wireless adapters are not capable of properly communicating with WPA devices. Typically a driver update of the laptop resolves the issue. If not, try another wifi adapter and verify it is not the OS or laptop itself.

Good Luck.

Trying to set up wireless from desktop (Main ethernet computer) to Laptop @ home. Have cable modem (comcast) connected to desktop (main ethernet plugged computer)Belkin Wireless Router G ethernet is hooked...

Check that the wireless drivers are installed properly on both your laptop and desktop. THe certificate error is because your laptop does not "trust" your computer. Under network conections click add a connection ec, and when you try to conect, microsoft should ask you weva to trust the connections from computer to computer that should do it :D

Belkin wireless router installation with a laptop that has an internal modem

Depending on the operating system that you are running, and if you have the appropriate wireless cards, you should be able to do this either with or without the modem. If you have the modem connected to one computer, and wireless cards on both computers, then your best option would be to just connect directly from one computer to the next. If you can tell me the answers to these few questions, I can help you get on the right path.

What operating system are you running? Windows XP? Vista? Macintosh?

Do both of your computers have wireless network cards? If not, then which computers have the wireless network, and which computer has the modem?
