When the set is powered on, the red, blue, and green colors are out of aligment and the picture is blurred. The blurred pictures self corrects after 5 minutes or so.
When I power up the set and immediately hit the flash focus button the picture looks good, but will become blurred as the set warms up. I correct the issue by hitting the flash focus once the set is warm. Any assistance with identifying the cause would be appreciated. Thank you.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadow pictures or 3D pictures look alike?The tv convergence board the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors are dead too.These parts on the tv convergence board must be replaced to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
I'm going to assume that the "lights" are images on the screen that seem to have a multi colored shadow. Within the menu there's a choice for convergence, when selected this gives a white cross centered in the screen. Using the arrow keys on the remote (left-right for vertical movement and up/down for horizontal) you will adjust the color that is "shadowing" or get all the colors aligned so the white cross has no trailing red or blue either horizontally or vertically. If you can't get it to adjust or there is no effect then repair is probably the only option.
X-box can be hooked up to component video. This is for better picture quality. Not all tvs have this option. Most newer tvs do. It uses green, red, blue. Those will give you the video. Then a red and a white give you the audio. Just match up the colors.

Yes, Convergence settings should be tried first before any color adjustment or any fluid changes are done. Remember that there are 3 colors to notice. Red, Green, Blue. The Green is the only one that you can not move with an adjustment The Red and Blue is ligned up on green. Some cases it does matter how linear the Green color is across the board, just how close you get the blue and red on top of green is what matters.
This is common in those sets. One of your convergence IC's has stopped working and needs to be replaced. The convergence IC should be replaced and the convergence circuits realigned by someone with experience in Sony projection sets.
plug it out to reset itself and if that does not work,you will have to call a tech as the tv has a problem in its power supply an its related circuit good luck.
