The volume level from MY MM6 has suddenly dropped off. no idea why. Have checked all the cables and they are fine. Seems to be a decreased output from the board itself, but I don't know why. Help!

I had the same problem. This is how I fixed it:
1- Lay the MM6 upside down, remove the screws, open the back panel.
2- On your right side (the Volume PC board section), you will see component stand up (2 of them had 3 legs each, one of them is had more than 3 legs don't remember exactly) but 3 of them all had metal finish on their back. There are look like Power Transistor ( I do not have a schematic to be sure) but when these part get warm or hot (volume is only decrease when MM6 had been Turn-On for awhile), caused the volume to decreased.
3-Go to Radio Shack or other electronic stores, buy 3 HEAT SHRINK or you can make them your self (find- google to see what it look like, marterial...etc);
4- Use small screws and nuts, install these HEAT SHRINK into these 3 component then they will help these 3 components to stay cool all the time, therefore it will fixed the Volume decrease problem.
5- Yamaha should put HEAT SHRINK into these part when they designed.

I have had this problem too. Often just turning it off and restarting the keyboard fixes the problem, however a year ago this easy fix did not work and so I opened the machine up. I had to remove a few screws and turn the circuit board over. Sure enough, near one of the output jacks there was a solder joint that looked darker than all the other. I uses a solder gun to reheat the solder joint and all worked well again for another year, at which time I had to do it again. I wonder if others have been having this problem.

I ran into the same problem (losing volume during shows, and having to restart the keyboard during live songs, ugh!) and this solution does work. I remove the screws holding the back half of the botttom of the keyboard, then unscrewed the four screws around the sound output and power adapter ports, then remove the screws around the board holding the ports, carefully remove the center ribbon and flip over the circuit board. Using a soldering gun, heat up the top solder spots underneath each port that is causing you problems, then put it all back together. Success!!

Passive Dean Bass. Simple set-up, 1 volume, 1 tone knob. Turn guitar and amp volume to "10", I get nothing. Other bass works fine so its not the amp or cable. Any ideas?

Broken cable inside, possibly at the output jack?
Or a failed potentiometer (volume or tone)
Pull the back plate off, and have a look at the wiring, Trace it with an ohmmeter to check for continuity at each step.

Psr s670 keyboard plays fine but when it is plugged into a mixer after a time the volume kicks in and out?

The issue you are experiencing could be related to a few different things. Here are some things to check:
  1. Check the cables: Make sure the cables you are using to connect your keyboard to the mixer are in good condition and securely plugged in. Sometimes a loose connection or a damaged cable can cause issues with the volume.
  2. Check the mixer: Make sure the mixer is set up correctly and the levels are adjusted properly. If the mixer is overloaded, it can cause issues with the volume.
  3. Check the keyboard settings: Make sure the keyboard is set up correctly and the levels are adjusted properly. Some keyboards have settings that can affect the volume output.
  4. Check for interference: Sometimes interference from other electronics or electrical sources can cause issues with the volume. Try moving your setup to a different location and see if that helps.
If none of these solutions work, it may be a hardware issue with either the keyboard or the mixer. In that case, it may be best to consult with a professional technician.

I have a Peavey XR 8600 PA, I have tried adding an external vocal effects module into a mic line but it drops the output volume of the entire PA by about 75%. Any ideas why this is?

Well, I would say it isn't dropping the level of "the whole pa", it is just dropping the level of the input you have plugged the fx into. Check the settings on your fx unit, there are usually input, output and mix controls that are independant of "the pa" and affect the amplitude of the signal going into your mixer from the fx unit.

Mpc 1000 loud static

Maybe try adjusting the MASTER level?

Good Luck

Other settings
Adjusting the master level You can adjust the level of the headphone and the stereo out by turning the MAIN VOLUME knob. The MAIN
VOLUME changes the analog signal level. This will also adjust the entire level of the MPC1000 digitally.
01. Press the [MODE] key and then the [PAD 10] (OTHER).
It switches to the OTHER mode.
02. Press the [F1] (GLOBAL) key.
The GLOBAL page will be displayed.
03. In the Master level field, set the level.
You will set the digital signal level, which will be sent out to the DA converter. The MPC1000 can output up to
32 sounds simultaneously. There is the great difference in the level when you play single sample and play 32
sounds. If you increase the value in the Mater level field, you can increase the entire level of the MPC1000 to
create more powerful sound with less noise. However, if you playback many sounds at the same time, the
level may be overloaded, which may cause distortion. If you decrease the value in the Master level field, you
can prevent distortion when you play many sounds at the same time. However, you cannot have a good
result in respect to the noise or punch of the sound. Set the appropriate value in the Master level field
depending on the application.

I'm running my Peavey Vypyr 15w through this cabinet with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter and a speaker cable, and the cab is producing sound, but the volume is very low and stays the same at every setting

This is a VERY low level output designed for headphones and will not drive a cab directly, you'll need an amp, take it to line in of an amp and all should be fine (REMEMBER This is designed to drive stereo headphones so is a TRS Right,Left,Screen. If you plug it into a mono input you will probably be shorting out one side of the peavey's output so get a splitter.

My Yamaha mm6 doesn't work stereo, just mono. when u put 2 cables it works from right channel, but if u put to the left channel, works from the left. I don't get it.

There is probably a setting that is wrong. The left channel is the default for mono operation. Look in your user manual regarding "PAN" which controls the output going side to side. You MAY be "panned" clear to the right. When you plug into the left, it is the default so in spite of being panned right, they would send signal to the left IF nothing is plugged into right.

Greetings. My MG 250 DFX Marshall 100W amp behaves strangely... I had some problems with it lately. I've been using it for a few years in my flat, so it has not been used extensively in terms of power...

I believe the design of this results in what you are seeing... Check each speaker INDIVIDUALLY plugged into the MAIN output as plugging into the second jack shifts the tap of the output transformer to the 4 ohm tap which results in a 6 Db drop but now you have two speakers... the apparent level change will be almost unnoticeable.. Do comparision of the speakers individually using the MAIN jack. This is just the characteristics of the beast...

Lacking volume

We used canned air to blow dust from the volume control slider connection. It did increase the volume, not quite to the original level, but to an acceptable level.
