Hi ilikepie2,

Unfortunately Error F3-F100-0003 means that the hard disk has failed. You need to replace the hard drive of your computer. If you can get someone (local tech) to check if they can still recover the files on it, it would be better.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Where is the jumper at on a toshiba satellite l505 s5990 for bios rest

Try removing the coin cell battery from the mother board for about 30 minutes. This resets the BIOS on a lot of laptops.

If you want it free, you may have to download a copy of windows from a torrent site like isoHUNT, then download your drivers from toshiba.
If you download the same version of windows that was installed, you may be able to use the COA windows key on your laptop

Windows xp drivers for toshiba l505-s5990

Take some time to polish-up your resume', since any company that is telling you to "downgrade" is a Neanderthalic place to work, especially if they cannot supply you with the "correct" (in their limited vision) tools (namely a laptop running XP) to enable you to work for them.

Some computers have "designed for Vista" or "designed for Windows 7" decals. This means that the manufacturer will not create device-drivers for the hardware inside the computer for the "older" versions of Windows.

So, you may need to purchase an external USB WI-FI adapter,
which will be sold with a CD-ROM that has device-drivers for Windows XP, and install the drivers, then connect the USB device.
