How do i access my basic belkin router setting

Yes is private unlesss they are hackers

Try reseting your Belkin and then configure it again,

To reset the Belkin back to the default settings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and then power for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. The router's encryption (password) is configured in the router's wireless settings.

Your computer has to be plugged into it (the router) for you to access those settings. You can access your router my typing this in your web browser address bar: http://196.168.2.1
From here navigate to the wireless settings and change it to WPA or WEP whatever you prefer. I prefer WEP b/c some of my older toys do not support WPA.

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to connect to the Belkin Router Wirelessly and it is asking you for a Security Key, all you need to do is to access the router settings page and look for the Network Key or Passphrase.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.2.1, the Default password is blank

Click on Security under Wireless and look for the Security Key or Network Key (Passphrase)
