This problem, really need to be on a bench to test.. FREE at any good cb shop, to tell you what is wrong.... But most times when a freq counter is not working. Either the crystal is bad, poorly soldered, or its not receiving an input signal. Best way to test is to have a second freq counter external inline using coax.. and check the output of the radio and see if it shows correct or wrong. If it is showing correct they you internal freq counter is messed up. and needs to be check for a bad crystal or solder joints. sometimes even the voltage regulators go bad.. If it is showing a wrong freq on external counter then check the radio's crystal and oscillator circuit. this too can be as simple as a cold solder joint. on the solder side check the small surface mount diode near the PLL, next to the PLL shielded covers. It is normally black these come loose often times too. If you need more help feel free to call or text for more help.

Tk-3107 but can't talk to my friends who already used tk-3107

there are to many options to solve, And to few information given by you
1 first turn on the sound knob (most likely)
2 read the channels of you're equipment and those of you're friends
software is all over or use an old radioscanner or freq counter.
3 put new software in all the equipmant. Easiest way

How to set channels to scan on motorola ht 1000

On the HT1000, there is an A, B, C toggle switch just under the On/OFF/Volume control knob.

When set to A, the radio is IN the scan mode.

When set to B it is NOT in the scan mode.

When switched to C, it is in the scan program mode. There is a green button on the left side above the PTT switch. When you set it to C, you switch the CHANNEL SELECT knob to the desired freq you want to add to the scan list. When there, you push the green button. ONE push gives you a red indicator light on the top of the radio. A 2nd push gives you a GREEN light displayed. A 3rd push gives you NOTHING lit up.

The 1st push (RED light) means you have selected THIS freq as your PRIORITY channel of your scan list when scanning.

The 2nd push (GREEN light) means it is just IN the list, not as a priority channel.

NO light means it is NOT entered into the scan list.

Once you have your list set up, simply flip the A,B,C switch back up to A and you're scanning what you selected.

HOWEVER All of the above is dependent on whether or not the ORIGINAL setup programming from the factory set the radio up for these features to work. If it WASN'T set up that way, you'll have to have it reprogrammed to activate the buttons and the toggle switch for those features to work.

My superstar 3900 transmits on one channel and receives on one ch

Ok! well i deffinitally know what the problem is. You need to play with the clarifier, i think all the way to the left is a "course and fine tune" knob. This is generally for use when talking on SSB. but may affect AM if its way off.

The clarifier lets you slide on the freq. some radios will go a full channel some will only go a little or above the center of the channel. You need to play with the clarifier, you probably need to turn the course a lot, untill the audio is almost clear on the channel you want to talk on, than use the fine to tune it in so it sounds like they are sitting right next to you.

what you should do is buy a Frequency counter, you got a nice radio, so the freq. counter wouldent hurt. lets say you want to be on channel 19. you would turn the clarifiers untill i read 27.1850 That would put you right on the money

Cobra microtalk LI 7500 WX

fyi my Cobra microTALK LI7500-WX came out of the box with one of the radios slightly off frequency, limiting range to about 100 ft. I was able to use a counter to fix it. The freq adjust is under the front faceplate that covers and protects the LCD screen, pry it off to expose one tuning pot.

Connex 3300 hp

U mean on sideband? Frequency counter only useful on other than sideband operation. This does not mean the carrier insertion osc. is on frequency. If it needs adjustment, your voice will sound high/ low on transmit. Incoming signals will sound right after adjusting the osc.
