Its a control board problem in the unit/.Many other users too are having the same problem. The board gets over heated and short and unit shuts off.It starts as power runs to the board. But board is short so it shuts off in few seconds. The other thing to check is the magnetron. ------------ Click this link to see or order magnetron if required:--- http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Magnetron/1608251?modelNumber=JVM1650AB001 ---------------- Click this link directly to check and see control board:--- http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Panel/875386?modelNumber=JVM1650AB001 -------------- The control board and magnetron has to be checked. Most of the cases its control board getting short causing this problem.--------------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
If the digital program circuit does not get a feedback signal from the inverter after a few seconds it shuts the unit down. It may be a simple fix as a defective door switch but that is rare. More often than not it is a problem with the inverter, magnetron, or programer circuit. A microwave has voltages that can kill, so for this reason I do not recommend a novice attempt to repair the high voltage section of the microwave. A bad door switch yes, but not much else. Microwaves are very cheap and more often than not is is not cost effective to pay to have them repaired. My advice is to check the door switch and if you find it is good junk the microwave unless you are experienced at their repair.
