Hi the wires in the boot are either from the number plate light or central locking if you have that fitted to your car.

Try the dealer here i dont have one and a haynes manual will only have a typical wiring diagram ,

this car has a factory security system. if it failed, you can cut the wire that leads to the dme.the wire is in the round connector on the left front of the engine compartment. the wire is either purple or purple with black stripe.

Onb German cars, brown wires are grounds. You are right, you need a wiring schematic to see where that wire is supposed to go.

What does not work in the car? This might give you a clue to what that ground wire is about. Note that if a componenet is looking for a ground, you will have battery voltage in that wire.
