Downloaded 2 year Norton renewal last night which took 8 hours!!!!! Now I find that there is an icon saying install Norton 360 on my screen and when I try to run that it says "file corrupt" and won't do anything. Ar no stage did the download as me for a Product Key either like the instructions for the download were telling me. Meanwhile I note that Symantec happily took my $185 for the subscription renewal that obviously has not happened. If my problem can not be fixed then I want an immediate credit to my visa please. Double click the downloaded icon to install the program
Once the program is installed, it will prompt you to enter the product key
Copy and paste your product key and your program will be activated

look first go to control panel and then add remove program then find norton 360 and uninstall it then again install.

Try the "last good configuration option - that might work.
If it does not you can try running in safe mode, and from there try to uninstall any remaining norton files from the control panel's uninstall software icon/

Easiest solution is to, rather than using the cd, download from the Norton website. This will allow you to install and use the latest version (version 4.0) with the cd key from you packaging.
The version can be downloaded from: The Norton support center upon running this file to install, you will be prompted for your cd-key. Enter the key and it will activate, allowing your Norton to work fully.
The concern is if you have installed the software before. Version 2.0 is a number of years old, and if it was installed more than a year ago, the subscription may be out of date and need renewed.

One way to resolve this issue is that activate the Norton program with the existing product key

to activate click on my account and select renew Norton 360 then you ill get an option to enter the product key

you can also download install the free upgrade ie Norton 360 version 4.0 from this link www.norton.com/n360s_4 you will not lose the existing days if you lost please activate again with the same product key

Boot up the PC in safe mode. How? Well when you start the PC press F8 before the windows start loading. A menu will open up. On top or there so you will find safe mode. Select it and boot. On booting in safe mode you will be warned that your PC is running in safe mode. Done? Now start control panel and then Add Remove Programs. Once that window is populated with all the progs that are installed on your PC, select Norton V3 and uninstall it. Uninstall V2 as well. Restart the PC in normal mode. Now install V3 and compute happily.

As far as I am aware most Norton subscriptions last for one year. Have you tried contacting Norton to ask about the problem?

I have only heard of such a short subscription when the software is given away as part of a free offer with a new PC but if you have renewed a previous subscription it would normally be for one year.

Once you have Downloadand saved it on Desktop then Doubleclick on the Norton removal tool Icon and run the Norton Removal Tool.

If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.Follow the on-screen instructions. Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
once the uninstallation compleates the You need to restart the computer and reinstall the Norton 360 on the computer.
Follow the Instructiions to Reinstall Norton 360 2.0
1.Do one of the following:
If you have the installation CD, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive, and then click Install Norton 360.
Note:-If you have downloaded the product, double-click the installation file. Unless you saved it elsewhere, the installation file is on the Windows desktop.

2.Read the License Agreement, and then click I Agree.
If you do not click I Agree, you cannot continue the installation.
3.Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once the Installation is compleate you need to Enter you Activation key and it will automatic Activate it, after the Activation you need to run Live updates to Update Norton 360.

You can do the same on Both PCs.This will resolve your Issue.
