Unfortunately, only video and/or pictures from your (SD Memory) Card can be transferred (via the USB cable) to your computer. Video/pictures from a disk is not accessible to your computer.
So, you may wish to try to playback the video (on the camcorder) with the output to a DVD recorder (using the AV cables from the camcorder to the DVD recorder or a VCR recorder). This assumes you have a DVD recorder (or VCR recorder) that will take the RGB input from the camcorder. Connect it up just like you're viewing the playback on a TV monitor.

I was able to recover all (if not most) of the contents - video clips from my (unfinalized/bad/corrupted) miniDVD disks ... (that I had recorded using the Samsung camcorder) by using the software tool - IsoBuster Pro . Inserted the mini-DVD into the DVD drive on my PC/laptop, and started the software . The process (to recover) may be very long .. i.e. it may take several to many hours for one miniDVD disk ... but it eventually enable me to retrieve the (lost) video clips.

I recorded my sons wedding with a dvd-rw. I went through the finalization steps. When I tried playing it on a dvd player it wouldn't recognize the disc. I tried to finalize again or unfinalize and the...

There is definitely a solution for this but you must use a computer to recover the information on that disc. It also depends on the software you are using to recover such information from the disc. My recommendation would be that you start by simply inserting your disc in the DVD Rom on the computer see what happens when you open My Computer on the Desktop then you click on the DVD rom icon to see if the DVD opens. If it opens it means the information on the disc can be read. so you click again on the folder that appears. If you have a media player installed then that media player will play back those video files. These files can then be transferred to the computer then authored by a computer software like Nero. There are many other programs that can do this job. Also such software can open sometimes such a disc if and when the windows operating system's My computer fails to open it.

Want to buy my VL-E650U Sharp Viewcam? Selling bag, camcorder, 3 tapes, manual, remote, and two batteries. Although the batteries don't hold juice very long any more, all the other items are in great shape without blemishes. Liz

I CAN NOT TRANSFER FROM THE CAM TO COMPUTER I HAVE WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL AND MY COMPUTER SAYS THAT THE FORMAT ON DVD IS NOT SUPPORTED

Hi,

There are three ways of transferring the videos from the Camcorder to the Computer. One is by using the Picture Motion Browser Software, other by using the A/V, USB cable after finalizing the disc in the Camcorder and finally using the DVD-ROM Drive in the Computer after finalizing the disc. If you're trying to transfer using the 2nd and 3rd option, the the disc in the Camcorder should be finalized.

Also make sure that the disc is formatted in DVD-Video mode instead of DVD-VR mode. VR mode recorded discs can only be played back using a VR Compatible Software/Player or in the same Camcorder. DVD-Video mode recording will help you in playing the discs in all the Players and DVD Viewing Software.

I always recommend transferring the videos to the Computer using the supplied PMB Software.

Please check transferring steps and information from the link given below:

Our wedding video was recorded on a DVD +RW disc on a Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder. I did watch it on the camcorder once. I then finalized it so I could play in on my computer and DVD player. Now nothing...

It's possible because your DVD is an RW that someone could have reformatted it on accident erasing the video. If you have something important to preserve make sure you do not use an RW DVD because accidents can happen and it could get wiped out unintentionally.

Mini-DVD playback

two things:

1) connect the camcorder to your computer using a USB cable and play it through that, by the way, what computer is it?

2) you can finalize without the ac adapter - its a built in safeguard to ensure that there is enough power to allow finalization to complete

Wont play on computer or dvd player

Disc must be finalized before it can be played back on DVD player or DVD recorder.
