Dell ADA745 Computer Speakers Logo
Posted on Jan 26, 2011

Dell Altec Lansing ADA 745 speakers. The computer connectors are different than on my old Dell 4550. However when I connect to my new Inspiron 580 using the cable that is connected to the subwoofer, I only hear sound from the front speakers. The connection from the subwoofer has a green plug and black plug. I put the green plug into Front L/R line-out connector and the black into the center/subwoofer connector. Obviously this is not correct. Please help.

No sound out of my Altec Lansing ADA 745. Computer Sound card is fine.

If other speakers are working, then 745 is defective or the volume switch is set to mute. Please check that, repair it if required.

How do you connect the altec lansing ada 890 speakers to a flat panel HD TV

You can use the audio output RCA outputs to connect to the speakers. You need to use a multi- connector to match the input of the Altec. You can get the mating connectors to the headphone to RCA which can be connected to the Audio outputs. Also you can use a network to match the input impedance, use a simple reisitive network.

My Altec lansing multi media ada 745 just stopped working all of a sudden. It doesn't work for all media ie. ipod, tv, computer. We can hardly hear it. I changed the fuse but it still doesn't work. Wh

unplug the power from the speakers, reseat the all the connections for the satellite speakers, ensure the power switch on both the subwoofer and the Right Front Speaker are in the ON position.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, then you are most likely going to need to replace the speakers, as the fuse is the only serviceable componet.

Altec Lansing speaker - model ada 745

I am guessing you mean the cord that goes into the PC, I don't know how "Broke"it is, but you should be able to cut the old end off and replace it, if you buy an inexpensive speaker extension cable, you can use that for the new end, or try radioshack, they may have replacements that just need to be wired, usually a black and red wire is all, just tape it up good to avoid shorts

Altec Lansing ada745 fuse

It is written on the sub. You can also take it out or look at the spare which is taped to the power cord wall plug. I believe it's T1A 250V fuse
