Our Gestetner DSM635 jams every time we try to staple copies. Researching this issue, I saw that we need to initialize the staples by going into the Tools screen. However, when I try to do this, that option isn't shown.

Staple is jammed

Open the area where more staples are inserted, remove the staples, then find the jammed staple. You'll probably have to wrench it out with pliers. Then insert the good staples and try again.

Several copies tried to go through the printer that were stapled. Now they are really jammed in there.

Hi Stella,

I'm Randy and I'll do my best to help.

This problem has a pretty much straight-forward solution which you probably know but you're hoping for a miracle answer. I'm afraid there is only one fix for this and that is to get the jammed paper, and staples, out without doing damage to the internal components.

There is only one way to do that and that is to dissconnect the power, open all doors and hatches, remove all paper trays and remove the toner cartridge. Then make sure you have a lot of light, or a flashlight, and needle-nose pliers. Get in there with your hands and very carefully remove the jammed staples. If the staples are jammed between the gears, you may need to perform some dissassembly if you're sure you an re-assemble the parts when finished. Use a camera and take photos if you need to remember where the pieces go. Take your time and don't force anything. It is possible that the damage has already been done in which case you'd be better to take it to a repair shop. Let's face it, if you know you'll need repairs, you may as well let the shop remove the pieces so no more damage occurrs.

Depending on the extent of damage, you may need to replace the entire unit. But let's hope for the best. In the meantime, have a long talk with those copies and tell them to never try anything like that again, or else!

I hope this helps.

I have a Stanley SharpShooter PHT150 that's jammed. I would like a diagram/instruction sheet showing how to fix this problem. Thanks.

Here is a copy of the instruction manual for your stapler.

1. Press end clip in, then up.

2. Pull out spring assembly.

3. Load staples into channel.

4. Reinsert spring assembly and

snap end clip into place.

EASILY DISASSEMBLED

FOR CLEANING:

1. Squeeze stapling end of hammer

tacker together, taking care to

avoid sharp staple.

2. Remove locking pin.

3. Press end clip in, then up.

4. Pull out spring assembly.

5. Remove staple channel.
6.Clear and reassemble

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

A staple jammed in the moving part (driver?) when using to staple. How do I clear the jam?

first remove the the spring loaded rod that keeps the staples in place and tight, if you can see any part of the jammed staple , grab it with pliers or vice grips and pull it out any way you can , might be more than one staple jammed too, turn stapler upside down to dump out any loose staples and debris , keep working until she frees up , if you still cant get it out might have to loosen screws up that hold it together, a little light lubricant will be good for it too . then load it back up with staples and put tension rod back in, i always try to keep it full of staples at all times ,like when it gets 2/3 empty , fill it up, this will ensure good tension on the business end of the staples!!

I have a staple stuck in my Arrow model #ETN-50 staple gun. How do I get it out? There is not enough staple exposed to pull it out and I don't see any way to take the nose apart. Thanks.

Unplug it. If you can see the driver jammed against the staple, take a screwdriver end and try to push the driver back in and the staple should be released. If you can't get the driver to go in and release the staple, you'll have to disassemble it to clear the jam, If you need help with that, see the instructions for the current model here, page three, diagram 3, cleaning the magazine.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

My Swingline model 520e jams every other time I staple.

There were a few staples left in the cartridge when the stapler stopped working. I went thru all the steps on bottom for stapler after changing the cartridge with two different cartridges. It makes the noise and puts marks in the paper, but no staples come out of it.

My arrow fastener model t-50m is jammed how do I remove the few

I have a similar issue with my T50m stapler. To remove the staples unscrew the locking nut near where you load the staples and remove the tapppered bolt. The track will lift out and the staples can be easily removed. Why this is happening is unknown to me also. I purchased a new gun.

KONICA MINOLTA C450 VXL Printer - When stapling multiple copies it staples all the copies together rather than each one separately as required. I use vista operating system.

There is an issue with the Konica Print Driver and the MS Print Driver. If Collate is turned on in both the drivers, you will get this problem.

The solution is to turn off Collate on one of the Drivers. Usually you will have an initial Print Dialog window that pops up when you can select your printer, how many copies and if to collate or not. De-select Collate. Then you should also see Preferences Tab. If you select that tab, select Collate and Staple, your print jobs should now Collate and Staple correctly.

Paper jams when using staple option for more than 13 copies

Hi,

There is someting I would like you do for me, I will tell you how to enter service mode and retrieve a jam code, give me that jam code, I will look it up and tell you what it refers to and what it could be.
1) Start service mode. (Press the '*' (additional functions)key, '2' and '8' at the same time, and the * key once again.)

Press the copier tab > then down the left side select jam
You will see Date, Time 1, Time 2, L, Code, P, CNTR and Size.

Write down the last 5 jam codes, eg. 0201 or 0112, OF12, 0014 whet ever the combination, if you can take down the date, two times, cntr and size, would be helpful also.

Do not go changing other settings in service mode as you can seriously affect your copier and you will end up calling a tech anyway.

Please get back to me with the codes.
