I have a Mitsubishi dlp WD62625 tv and I had a new bulb installed in Nov. 2010 by a tv repairman. After installation he re-set the tv but the yellow/red light wouldn't go off. So everytime I turn the tv on the yellow/red light stays on. Its Jan. now and just yesterday I got a message on the screen that my lamp should be replaced soon. I read something yesterday that its a possibility the ballast is bad. If so where is the ballast located and is it hard to replace?

The bulb wire go to the ballast board, they do wear out over time but is usually down to capacitors, also depending on how much you watch the tv its about time to change the bulb as they only last a certain amount of time any way. when the tv is reset properly it will count down on time used. from new bulb. its only an estimate, if you are having difficulties seeing the screen the bulb is on its way out.

SOURCE: Replaced lamp and now can't get a picture

Hi Sally Jo, Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 934C148001. Hope this helps!

fixityrsel is wrong.
1 The "Airflow message"is just a bad connection and very easily solved.Mitsubishi has a service bulletin out and will cover the repair for free. Your set may not even have the defective connectors.
Your set was manufactured in 2004..Call any authorized Mitsubishi
servicer.

Capacitors are very easy to find! Any (105 degree) PC mount 3300uf@ 16VDC will work fine..and not bulge again..Higher Working voltage than the stock 10 VDC is what caused the problem with the caps.
Mouser electronic is one of hundreds of suppliers for those caps
Order online if you know for sure they are bad in your set.

I have an 82" Mitsubishi DLP tv. I have replaced the lamps 3 times and just replaced the ballast. I am still getting 6 red blinks and 1 yellow

I hate being the bearer of bad news, had the same problem, and I found out that the problem with DLP is that after so long, nothing that you do will fix it. A TV repairman offered me $100 for my set and I took it, that was 2 years ago and it still goes through bulbs and ballast several times a year. Now when i see him he always says I never should have taken that TV. It never plays long enough to sell it.
On a liter note: 4k si approaching $1000 now, that's the way to go.

White death DLP TV

White dots on your RPTV television are the result of the DLP chip being worn out. You can replace it very easily by buying a new DLP chip for just under $190 and installing the new chip. There is a very good forum over at fixyourDLP that offers tutorials for replacing the DLP.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

White dots appearing on Mitsubishi 1080p DLP tv.

Actually you must replace the DLP chip that is buried deep in the works of the tv. Unfortunately this can run into a nice lump of change. Do what I did. Perhaps you've heard the old addage
