Dear sir i am doing maintenance of 500 fax machine of kuwait Oil Company I am facing problem in fax Machine Brother 2820 message Shows 'TONER LIFE END' After Changing Toner also message remain same plesse help.

1. With unit powered On, open the front cover.

2. Press the "Options" key. Display will show "Replace Drum?"

3. Press "Start" key.

4. Press 1,0 .

5. Display will show "Accepted" for approximately 2 seconds. Then display will change to "Cover Open".

6. Close cover and see if Toner Life End error message has gone.

Open the front cover
Press the OPTIONS button
Press the START button
Press the number 1 key twice
Close the front cover.

You may need to go through the steps above twice to reset the toner.

I replaced already new toner cartridge for my brother fax machine mfc-2820 but still the on screen message is appearing on the display "TONER LIFE END".
Pls help me to solve this problem.

To reset the sensor after installing a new toner cartridge follow these steps.
1. With unit powered On, open the front cover.
2. Press the "Options" key. Display will show "Replace Drum?"
3. Press "Start" key.
4. Press 1,0 .
5. Display will show "Accepted" for approximately 2 seconds. Then display will change to "Cover Open".
6. Close cover and see if Toner Life End error message has gone.
Please note that this must be done with a new cartridge so the unit will see that there is toner in the cartridge.

Make sure the machine is not in direct sunlight as the toner end sensor is photo-optic. If it's an after market toner or refill...good luck with that. Lastly remove the toner tap on top of it and shake it from side to side and reinstall. The toner may be caked up inside,

try opening front door, press "options" then "start" then "1" and "0". if screen shows accepted, you're good to go. close front cover.

with machine on, open front cover, press the "options" button, you should see "replace drum?" press the "start" key then 1 then 0. display should show accepted for a couple of secs. then show cover open. close front cover and message should be gone. if not, you will have to contact Brother.

Im think you leave the cover open and hold down clear

There is no reset code the likely thing is that you have a faulty toner cartridge. Put another new one in and check the machine then.

Before you try the above shake the toner cartridge and tap it some more as it may also be the toner inside have become solid and needs breaking up.

Make sure that you are not using generic supplies. Using generic supplies or supplies that have been refilled will cause the unit to give false errors. There is white piece of plastic inside the semi circular opening, if you do not see a white semi circular opening it is either a generic toner or starter toner and you will need to replace the toner with a authentic toner. You may try this also: 1. Remove the drum and toner, separate the drum and toner and then rock the toner from side to side. 2 Put the drum and toner back together and clean the corona wire ten times. 3 Put the drum and toner back inside the machine and close the cover, if you still have toner life end try this: a Open the front cover b press the options key, the LCD will say "replace drum?" c press the start key. and then press 10 on your dial pad. the display should say accepted for about 2 seconds and then say cover open. d close the cover, if the display still has toner life end, you will need to replace the toner
