Epson Stylus Pro 7600. I thought my problem was that I had air in the ink lines. The lines are mostly full of ink, just a few bubbles in a few of the lines. But when I print a nozzle check, hardly any of the inks print at all. Could the air in the lines cause that problem? Or is it more likely that my print head is bad?
If my ONLY problem is having some air in the ink supply lines... shouldn't I still be able to print a pretty good nozzle check? If my ONLY problem is having some air in the ink supply lines... shouldn't I still be able to print a pretty good nozzle check?

When u change the printhead on this unit you must be very sure that u unplug it from the wall before u remove the ribbons.t is important that u disconect the line in question from the damper. Take a serenge and start priming the line, make sure ur cartrige is in place, don\'t worry u wil not lose the ink. Prime that thing until u see no more bubbles . Re connect the damper and once that\'s done prime the damper until its full, connect to head Andy should have a working line. If ur serenge is full of ink u can inject it back in the cartrige. Do not do this while printer is on or u will invite more bubbles.....mike
I've had the same problem, and when I checked the dampers one of them was clogged, I flushed it carefully with warm water and it started to work. If u decide to take the print head out to flush it make sure u unplug the machine or u will blow the fuse on the mother board..it will go trough the motions of printing but nothing will print..be careful..
The only reason I know is by allowing the cartridge to completely run out of ink. That is why you cannot print in black only when a colour has expired. The printer does not only use the black cartridge it uses a bit from each cartridge to ensure the nozzles stay clean.
I'd suggest just performing a cleaning cycle as this will also get rid of air in the ink tubes.
If you realy have a need for it holding down the following buttons at power on enables you to enter the service menu: paper-source + paper-feed-down + cut/eject just be really careful as you can cause a lot of damage within this menu to your printer.
Service required mean waste ink counter overflow. You need to reset it. SSC Service utility don't work with this type. The resetter is not for free, it's commercial. Only some distributor have it.
