Any suggestions for an honest repair serviceman in southflorida? I have a 10 year old Mitsubishi Medallion HD1080 55" rear projection that is giving me trouble with the picture.I cannot fix it myself despite all the good instructions you provide around here.Just wondering?

Video board malfunctioning....Get a honest TV tech. Only three years old? It is worth repairing, will deliver several more years of excellent service. A quality television.
When it shuts off and the green power light goes off, press both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set (not the remote) and hold both for about five seconds and release.
Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks and then 3 blinks and repeat it several times.

This is very common problem.
Do you feel comfortable looking inside with the power off?
Most likely the lenses and or mirrors need to be cleaned.
For the mirrors we use Windex or similar cleaner
For the lenses I recommend lens cleaner from a camera shop
Yes this worth fixing. If you dont feel comfortable doing the cleaning yourself just call a serviceman
If this is a ws-65411: it sounds like one of the two STK-392-110 convergence IC's is bad; you need to have both replaced at the same time; I do this type of repair(done hundreds of them) and most can be done right in your home.
The two ic's can be purchased on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping.
This is the slow time of year for TV repair shops--find someone in your area who knows how to do this kind of repair---here shops charge 3-4 hundred but I charge 200-250 total depending on brand of set.
Shop around and if they insist on "taking set to shop" keep looking---any good tech can do this repair in your home---MAKE SURE HE CHANGES BOTH of the IC's!

TRake the fron grill off and the front board 6- screws on my 65inch there are three adjustment knobs one of them wil adjust the huge
one the whole screen,if not that,I have heard mold growing on and the inside of the blue bulb because it runs the coolest out of the three.
