I took several movies with my new Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder and very easily uploaded them to my Mac using iMovie 7.1.2. Each time the upload process started automatically when plugged the USB cable into both the camera and the Mac and turned the camera's AC power on with the camera mode wheel set to the TAPE PLAYBACK position. Which according to both the camera's and iMovies' instructions is how things are supposed to work.
The camera seems to be working normally; I can easily review the recorded tape while looking through the eyepiece (and controlling the camera using the joystick); but iMovie no longer begins Importing (and the Mac trainers that I've talked to can't understand why). They've duplicated the problem on their in-shop Mac (which doesn't know that the camera's connected to it, either... thereby "proving" that the problem isn't with the computer since both computers function perfectly when iMovie is told to import from the built-in "iSight" camera (and they go a step further, saying that the Panasonic should show up as a choice on on the drop-down menu that shows the iSignt camera; but that it's not appearing there). They also note that the computer should issue a warning any time that contact between the camera and the computer is broken after the attempt-to-transfer process has been started (but that this doesn't always happen with either their computer or mine). Their present theory is that maybe "the software inside the camera probably needs to be rebooted."
I will greatly appreciate ANY assistance and/or suggestions, including anyone's input on how to get any help from ANYWHERE (very much including any sort of help from Panasonic, if it develops that their involvement is required)!

Usually answered in minutes!
I waited for more than an hour for somebody to chat with, and now have given up (as far as waiting goes). But before signing off, I would like t tell you:
At the moment, the only option that's being offered to me is for me to sign up for the roughly $10.00 "Premium" service... which doesn't seem like the right thing to do since I already have signed up for the roughly $15.00 Premium service (and already paid for that in full, using PayPal).
I realize that the "Premium Chat Assistance FAQ" says that If my problem cannot be solved without physical repair I may receive a refund; so I want to tell you sincerely that that isn't a major concern. I don't want my money back, I want HELP. I very much want to believe that you are honest people, with a capable and principled staff. Please, do let me hear from you! Please don't merely leave me hanging... RESPOND (in a reasonably short time period).
I sincerely want an answer to my technical problem; but I EVEN MORE want to discover that there are are (and you are) people who have the integrity to deliver at least an honest effort.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.
I, too, have the exact same problem.
My Imac not recognizing my Panasonic PV-GS320 camara.
I've read & re-read the manuals. I've consulted with the Apple tech at the store. This shouldn't be a problem , but it is.
My camara didn't come with a cd to install like the guy at Apple suggested.
I went to a Panasonic website and downloaded a driver - still no effect.
I need to find a solution to this problem. Please, contact me if now what
I need to do. Thanks!
