Bought a universal plug for my nordic track AudioStrider 800 elliptical for the 6volt option. Worked very well without problem. But recently I accidentally switched the universal power plug to 12v option. and when I plug it in the elliptical air fan started going super fast and smoke started coming out of the elliptical computer screen. Now when I plug it or us the 4 D batteries only the fan starts but the screen nor options turn on. What possible part(s) would need to be replaced/fixed?

You'll need an entire new console for that. They are very expensive but can be found at iconservice.com

SOURCE: Calibration Mode for nordic track treadmill model

Hello there, The calibration mode for a nordictrack is as follows.

With the safety key out, hold the stop and speed up arrow at the same time while inserting the key. Release the buttons. You will then be in diagnostics.
You then press the stop button one time.
If you are trying to calibrate the incline you just need to hit the incline up button and the machine will do an incline calibration. The unit should go all the way to the top and return to the bottom when completed.

If you need to calibrate the speed you will need to press and hold the speed up button on the console until the display reads 85. The machine should then be running at its maximum speed (either 10 or 12 mph depending on the unit)
The display will show a speed on the console and should be within .3 of the maximum speed.
If it is not then it will need to be adjusted using a potentiometer on the control pwb.
To access the control pwb open the hood cover. Should be 3 screws in the rear of the cover and 2 screws on the bottom of the unit.
Once inside the cover locate the control pwb. On the control pwb there will be a yellow/orange potentiometer. This is the adjusting part.
Use a non-metallic phillips head screw driver to adjust the potentiometer either clockwise for faster or counterclockwise for slower.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck! Tim

SOURCE: plugged in a wrong adaptor and my elliptical started smoking

usually when you let the smoke out your done, but if it seems to be OK, I would just run (ellipe) with it. The board is probable damaged but working, you might of burned a few contacts, sniff around. You can take the covers off and look but if they are burned bad you might just finnish it off. How long it lasts can't be determined, but it is just a matter of time before it goes.

SOURCE: My Nordic Track Elite XT's belt will not start.

most likely the little plastic cover on one of the motor brushes popped off.

it's curved, but rectangular in shape and about the size of a quarter.

SOURCE: Nordic Track exp 2000I. Consol lights, buttons do not work.

If the console lights up but the buttons don't work, then unfortunately it's probably the console and they're not repairable that I know of. You may want to check the wiring harness and the connections at the console and at the controller under the motor hood. Pull them apart and check for bent pins. If they look good, the console is most likely bad.
