Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Go to Compaq's website (Now HP) and find info (KIP) on the max Ghz it will support and what has to be done (maybe nothing, maybe switches or jumpers) set it and "POP" in the new chip!
