Your printer has a print head under the ink cartridges. You can try a cleaning, and if this does not fix the issue, you may need to replace the print head .

Clean Printheads function
To activate the Clean Printheads function from the front panel:

  1. From the front panel, press MENU.
  2. Press the RIGHT or LEFT ARROW until Status and Maintenance displays.
  3. Press ENTER
  4. Press the RIGHT or LEFT ARROW until Clean Printheads displays.
  5. Press ENTER
After a few minutes the HP Officejet D series will automatically complete the printhead cleaning operation.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Thanks, Joe

I just put 2 new ink cartridges in and when I try to print something there is no ink on the page. I opened the machine top up and looked when the ink goes whening trying to print and there is ink...

The ink jet printers need to be handled a specific way when transported and if the person left the ink cartridges in during shipping or getting it to you, the ink had leaked. The printer needs to be unplugged and totally cleaned with alcohol to remove all the dried up ink.

Officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

Is the color cartridge new and do you know how to check the gauge in your control panel for the ink levels?

My hp officejet d135 won't print with ink. I just installed two new ink cartridges. It printed out one sheet very very faintly and then wouldn't put out any more ink. The printer hasn't been used in...

look un der the print cartridge, you should see the actual print heads or jets. they can be removed and cleaned with mild soap and water. They tend to plug up if not used regularly.
