2 months past warranty!! heard a louder than usual noise, now the front panel reads ER FF. Fridge seems to stil cooling, removed frozen foods just in case. Can't get a tech out from Sears till late next week, Family of 7 need help !!! Thanks.
This is an error code that pertains to the evaporator motor but could also be the main board.
If the evaporator motor is running, the main board will probably need to be replaced.
It could be a wiring problem but it's not very likely.
If the motor is not running, some voltage checks will need to be made, at the motor and board, to determine which component has failed.
These checks require a meter and can be difficult to make, even for a technician.

Sorry to hear your dilemma. Have the same thing going on. I purchased mine 14 months ago. Cleaned under and behind panel. Unplugged a few times. Finally have the display panel showing normal. Kenmore/sears was no help. Called on monday and said their tech could get here by friday.

Have the same problem with digital display locking up and reading error. The temp seems to be steady. Unplugging seem to help it but the problem recurred again the next morining. Just had this installed yesterday and I'm afraid this might be a recurring thing down the road, especially when warranty has elapsed.
The readings on the display would take turns coming on. The temp would count down from 40 or so to 30 and various blinking would occur. Refridge and freezer were losing temp. Called sears help and they are coming out this Monday. I will follow up with their response.
Yes I have the same if not similar problem I get a 22 or 88 error on the display. Seems to still work but it beeps for a while and then seems to correct itslef. Calling Sears tomorrow, warranty up next month
