Edimax Print Server, Cannot find the printer in with the server manager, I can enter and login on the print server using the print server IP in the URL bar. DHCP is on and set to always give my print server the same adress. I can find it on all the computers in my network save for one. How can this be resolved (Firewall is open to it, using Comodo Antivirus)

SOURCE: Problem with Canon I-SENSYS MF 4150

Wondering why you changed to a new Canon driver? With the new driver, this print server may not work, no IFs, ANDs or BUTs. Most print servers (not all though) don't work well with a multi-function printer. This one probably changed due to software programming in the new driver. All you can really do is return to the older driver, or buy another type of print server. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"

Via a web browser
Because web based management requires the TCP/IP protocol for communication, any reset option you see when managing the machine with a web browser, will not reset the IP address details that are set. If you wish to totally reset all the print server parameters we recommend you reset the print server by using the BRAdmin application.
To reset the print server (excluding TCP/IP parameters) follow these steps:
  1. Connect to the printer using a web browser.
  2. Click Network Configuration.
  3. Enter the print server password (the print server password is detailed in the user guide for the print server) if it's applicable.
  4. Click the Set Default link or Reset Print Server.
Via the control panel (only for network ready models)
  1. Make sure the machine is not operating, then disconnect all the cables from the machine (except power cable).
  2. Press the Menu or Menu/Set key on the control panel.
  3. Press up or down navigation key to select LAN or Network and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
  4. Press up or down navigation key to select Factory Reset or Network Reset and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
  5. Select Reset.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The machine will re-start, re-connect cables once this is complete.

How do I set up an HP JetDirect 170X Print Server with Windows 8.1 Operating System?

Connect the printer to the print server. Push the test button on the test button on the print server. Two pages will print. One of the pages will contain the IP address for the print server. Connect the print server to the router. Now you need to go to the Control Panel and select "Devices and Printers". Select "Add a Printer". When it searches for a printer, select "The printer I want isn't listed". Next, select "Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname" and click "Next". Now, enter the IP address from the test print and click next. That will do it.

How do i set up my wireless canon printer to my laptop? I keep getting messages saying can't find the printer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need: · Wireless print server
· USB printer
· Ethernet cable
· Computer
1. Step 1
Obtain a wireless print server that is compatible with both your wireless network and your printer. While the printer’s documentation may not explicitly say that it is compatible with a print sever, many are compatible, and this can be verified by checking the website of the print server’s manufacturer. If you have a multifunction printer, only the print function will work with most wireless print servers, though a few have recently added support for scanning and the printer’s other functions.
Step 2 Read all of the documentation that came with the wireless print server. The manual will detail the specifics of the installation routine.
Step 3 Connect the printer to the wireless print server via the USB cable. Connect the print server’s Ac adapter and turn the unit on.
Step 4 Connect an Ethernet cable between the wireless print server and your computer. This will be used for the initial setup only.
Step 5 Insert the CD supplied with the print server into your CD-Rom drive. Start the software if it does not start automatically. The application will walk you through the installation process, which includes setting the unit’s IP address, setting an access password, configuring it to connect to the wireless network, installing the drivers that allow the print server to use the printer and installing the print drivers on your computers.
Step 6 Choose how your print server will be addressed. Most units are set up to use dynamic addressing by default, which means that your wireless router will assign an IP address to it. This allows the server to be easily installed on the network, but it also means that the IP address of the printer may change over time. The other option is to assign a static IP address to your print server. This option is more reliable, because the print server will always use the same IP address, making it easier for the computers to find the printer and easier to access the print server’s online configuration application. If your router has the IP address of 192.168.0.1, for instance, set the print server to something like 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.0.3, as long as another device does not use that address.
Step 7
Set a password to be used to access the unit’s online configuration application.
Step 8 Configure the print server to access your wireless network. Give it the same SSID network name as your router and set it to use the same wireless channel. If encryption is used on the router, enable encryption on the print server, and enter the encryption key or password.
Step 9 Follow the instructions given by the print server’s software for installing printer drivers on the unit.
Step 10
Disconnect the Ethernet cable and allow the unit to connect via the wireless network.
Step 11 Install the printing drivers on each computer that will use the printer.
Step 12 Access the print server’s online configuration application to verify all settings by entering the IP address of the unit into a web browser, using the “http://192.168.0.2” format. Enter the administrator name and password.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

How can I connect wireless G print server to a 65bits windows vista without a problem, it just works for WIN XP

Hi, it appears that many are having problems with the WPS54G Print Server. I too have always found it hard to get pc to connect to it. My latest problem was with a Win 7, 64bit pc.

Setting up a printer with a print server is a two part configuration. First you need to configure the print server and then add a printer in your OS.

The following instructions are for a linksys wireless router and the linksys wirless print server model # WPS54G.

To set up the print server correctly go to this link.....http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=4142&donelr=1

Following is the instructions from the above link:
Title: Connecting the PrintServer Wirelessly to a Wireless Router Article ID: 4142 Before configuring the wireless settings of the PrintServer, make sure to know the following settings on your linksys router: SSID, and wireless security. To check the wireless settings on the linksys router, click here.
Configuring the Wireless Settings on the PrintServer
The wireless settings of the PrintServer can be configured using its web-based utility. Make sure the PrintServer is set to a static IP on the network.

Record the Print Servers IP address you will need it later.

NOTE: Make sure the PrintServer is already working when hardwired to the linksys router before attempting to use it wirelessly on your network.
Step 1:
Access the PrintServer’s web-based setup page. Open a web-browser such as Internet Explorer.
NOTE: If you're using Mac, use Safari to access the PrintServer's web-based setup page.
Step 2:
Go to the address bar and enter the IP address you've assigned to the PrintServer.
NOTE: To assign the PrintServer a static IP address, click here.
Step 3:
When the PrintServer setup page appears, click Wireless.
Step 4:
Enter the same SSID you have on the linksys router. Make sure the Network Type is set to Infrastructure then click Save to apply your changes.
Step 5:
Click Security and look under the Security Mode field. Select the type of wireless security your router is currently using then enter the corresponding security keys.
Step 6:
Click Save to apply the settings then close the PrintServer setup page.
Step 7:
Unplug the Ethernet cable connecting the PrintServer to the linksys router. Power it off for 30 seconds then power it on.
Step 8:
Make sure the Wireless LED on the PrintServer is lit and the Ethernet LED is off to indicate that the PrintServer is in wireless mode then try to print wirelessly.

Stop if you can print at this point. If not continue. The following instructions are for Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Once the above steps are completed open windows file explore. Click Network and you should see a "print server" listed. Click on PRINT SERVER and you will see a network icon labeled p1.

You should now be able to add a printer.

In win 7 open the add printer and click "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer", and click next. A searching for printer window pops up. It will list any network printers or print servers it see's on your network. You should see a listing titled "p1 on Print Server".

At this point you need to click "The printer that I want isn't listed. This is just below the "Select a printer" box.

Next a "Find a printer by nane or TCP/IP address" window opens. Select "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname. Click next.

Another window pops up which ask for a printer host name or IP address. Enter the IP address of your print server (the one you recorded when setting up your print server), and click next.

The next windows states the device is of unknown type. Under Device Type, make sure Standard is checked. Out to the right is a down arrow, click it and you should see many different devices displayed. Scroll until you find "Hewlet Packard Jet Direct", click on it to select it and click next.

Finally a "Install the printer Driver" window should open. Select your printer and follwing the instructions. If your printer is not listed you can click "Window Update" which will look for new printer divers. Once the printer driver is installed you should be able to print.

As you can see this in not a simple printer install. Good luck!

Whatever the model is, or brand, I always prefer to ignore the printserver software and just ADD a TCP/IP Port.
Open Control Panel
Open Printers
Right-click: Server Proprieties
Add TCP/IP Port
put the IP address and select option "Print Server"
That's it.
now, just add the printer, manually select the port you've just created.

No Ports available

The default IP in the D-Link router is 192.168.1.x
The default IP in the Edimax is 192.168.2.2

Your 3rd octet (the # after 168) has got to be the same for the two of them to communicate.
So, you can either reIP your router, or connect your PC to the print server and change it. The software for the print server should have a tool for finding the PS by MAC address, then you can go in and reset it to 192.168.1.x
