Hello this transcriber is only a 4.8 Speed transcriber and the slide speed control is on the front of the unit if the cassette that you are trying is a Normal 4.8 speed and is not responding you need to send your unit for service you can try this place Send an email to [email protected] or call (800) 644-9525. Please indicate model, serial and detailed description of problem
If it does this with all tapes, there is a small "no-cassette" switch at the back of the cassette compartment. The switch may be broken, dirty or out of adjustment. When you open the cassette door you should be able to see the switch tab. Push it in just a bit to see if the No Tape indicator goes out.
