Yes you can, there are English dictionary created in JAVA platform. If your phone supports JAVA you can download an English dictionary from mobile phone sites like http://www.mobiles24.com. Just search dictionary and you will have different options.

If you have installed a JAVA game/s before on your phone, installing this kind of software will be the same. I hope I was able to give you some ideas with your query.

You don't have to download the dictionary. It is already on your phone. When typing a message, press the options button-> Select input method/dictionary option and select the dictionary option(T1 I think).
