I got this Sunbeam SGB8901 microwave that doesn't heat anything. It turns on, rotates drink or food, and it sounds like it's working fine, but once the timer counts down, you pull out the drink and it's cold. Any ideas on what could be wrong and how to repair?

Open the case and cut or disconnect the wire to the device that emits the sound. Likely it is not a speaker but a pizzo electric device. The manufacturer's do not usually include any way to turn this function off. You have to do it by brute force.

Only 2 years old? Hopefully you still have owner's manual, troubleshooting section should help you look for the problem. Hopefully, there is a circuit breaker, or perhaps a fuse. I hope it was not used with a metal object accidentally. No help? Check with Sunbeam Customer service, be nice, they usually are helpful.

If it doesn't heat you nedd a technicion. orconatct manufacturer.

Have a shop look at this---there usually is a recessed safety switch inside the jam that will prevent the unit from working with door open--sounds like the problem may be with it.

Unplug microwave, open top, "several screws" look to where the keypad is, behind that you should see the control board, mounted you should see a round black device may be a speaker or pizza buzzer, verify that is sound.

There's a problem with the magnetron, if it's brand new return it ask for a replacement...

I had the same problem, but didn't have the box anymore. The store let me exchange it for another one but that one is doing the same thing too.

replace magnetron, check highvoltage related circuit.
