Following link shows links to grundfos and grundfos manuals.

1) My grundfos stopped working because sediment clogged the pump, and the motor slowed.
When motors slow, they get hot and burn up.
I ask my friend who rewinds motors how to fix it, he said in the old days, they rewound every motor, but today they throw valuable scrap into landfill, and then buy new motors from China.
I told him not to retire, but go to school and teach kids how to rewind motors, and then took apart the grundfos line and cleaned it out with CLR, but it never worked again.

2) If timer stops working, but pump still works, you can buy cheap plug-in timer and connect grundfos to the cheap timer

The grundfos 'contact-us' link is right there. Grundfos makes 100s of products with different suffixes for each model number. Certainly you are able to move forward with your project using the important information provided here, and with the key Grundfos links shown, plus the grundfos contact link. If somebody bothered to give me that help for free, I would be appreciative. Next time, bring your checkbook.

Should the return line come into drain of water heater or cold in.

Your question is not complete.
You have gas water heater in attic?
You are installing recirculation system? Which recirculation do you have? .. so expert can read instruction manual alongside you.
You can connect the recirc return line to the water heater drain valve only IF you have plumbed a separate return line for that installation.
Otherwise, the recirculation return line recirculates into the cold water inlet on water heater.
Copy following link for general illustrations showing both types of installation.

I've had my Grundfos Up1510SU7P for about 5 yrs. Recently, it started sending scalding hot water to the faucets. Could it need a new value? I've tried to find a manual for this for any...

It sounds like thermostatic operation is not working.
I cannot offer specific repair, but can offer resources

1) Grundfos service options and warranty information + local distributor of parts and service center finder:
http://www.grundfos.us/web/homeus.nsf/Webopslag/OMAT-5S7J7X

2) Terminal strip and capacitor replacement does not show UP1510SU

3) Open following link for recirculation system resources including some manuals, but I don't have your exact manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html
I can see your product on following link
http://www.houseneeds.com/shop/plumbing/recirculators/waterrecirculatorindex.asp

4) Recirculation systems operate 2 ways: with thermostat or timer.
Thermostat is supposed to turn off circulation when water reaches 100 degrees approx.
Until thermostat is repaired, you can work around problem by moving slide switch to TIMER and set timer to run intermittently so temperature at faucet is moderated.

5) Adjust temperature at water heater

Pump started to make a rattling noise after 4 yes of perfect operation.

Pull off the pump and clean it out.
The noise could be sediment build up causing pump rotor to make noise.
Noise could also be bad bearing or bad rotor.
Noise could be air bubbles in the line.
Once pump motor begins to slow, no mater what the cause, it overheats and begins to burn out.
Many times, once a motor has slowed, it never recovers and spirals downhill and stops working.
There are no repair parts for recirculation pumps.

The hot water comes on immediately and sometimes takes ten to fifteen minutes I have the grundfos up10b5/atlc in my attic. The water is really a hard water kind. Can i clean it?

If your grunfos pump is clogged with hard water sediment, then it probably needs replacement.
You can try soaking it in CLR for a while, but I doubt it can be salvaged.
Sediment adheres to surfaces and there is no way to get inside the pump and scrub it out with a tooth brush.

You might benefit from replacing pump with the type that has a timer. That might save a bit of money. Or you can add a timer to the ordinary grundfos. If pump works fewer hours, it shouldn't clog up as quickly (or so the theory says)
And your water system might benefit by flushing your water heater each 6 months to prevent sediment from forming in the water heater.
