HP dv600015.4" Notebook Laptop PC speakers suddenly stopped working. Headphones work. I've checked all the volume controls and did troubleshooting, but nothing. Any suggestions?

I've had the same thing happen just about the same time as you. My internal speakers are no longer listed as installed. I think an automatic windows update messed up system. Trying to find out how to reinstall.

I have had the same problem. The speakers worked one day and did not the next. No problem occured that should have caused them to quit. The headphone jack works but the main speakers do not. I checked all the setting for the speakers and everything seems fine.

Interestingly my HP notebook Dv6000 internal speakers just stopped working August 4th, 2008. The external speaker jack works fine. Additionally my notebook won't start unless I press down ******* various places next to the on/off switch... which is next to the internal speakers.

My dv9260nr just failed as well in excactly the same way. Running vista 64 ultimate. Have seen posts on other forums as well indicating failures in April of 2009. Maybe there was some kind of vista upgrade that is doing this. Also recently installed latest version of Skype.

Suddenly there is no sound in the speaker but headphone works fine..laptop is Lenovo B575

If the head phone jack works its more likely to be the problem, if you use the headphone jack a lot the connections inside it can get worn or bent out of shape--engaging the headphone jack should shut the speakers in the unit off.

Other possible reason is a bad speaker or connections.

Dv6000 no sound from internal speakers

If the stereo jack works, then there is no problem with the sound card or its drivers. Your speakers have played their last, most likely some internal wiring broken as speakers themselves rarely just quit.

HP Pavillion dv6110us Speakers not working

The sound power comes through a ribbon cable to the power button, along with the power supply switch wiring. This "power ribbon cable"( part # 431437-001) has frayed where it connects to the motherboard.
The new cable will cost you about $5 with free shipping on ebay and takes about 10 minutes to replace.
You can find step by step instruction on the repair by searching "dv6000 power ribbon removal".

My hp pavillion laptop all of a sudden the headphone outlet quit

if the outlet is indeed broken then you need to take the computer in for service. Do so while it's still in warranty.

Check your Sound preferences to be sure you have the correct sound output port selected.

Hp pav dv6000 - buzzing speakers

Does it stop if you mute the system?

Find a pair of headphones and plug them into the laptop and see if the buzzing continues in the headphones. If it does, it's a driver problem. Uninstall Audacity (which I don't think works too well with Vista, unless they've released a new version) to see if the problem goes away. If the buzzing is only occuring on your laptop speakers, but not in the headphones, then you may have blown them by using the wrong impedance out of your amp...

I rather suspect it's an audio driver problem. What happens when you remove Audacity?

Hp pavillion dv6000 - speakers buzzing after recording

First of all, check if the issue is with the Microphones of your Notebook.
Try disabling or turning off the Microphone of the Notebook to check this.
Additionally, try reinstalling the Audio Drivers of the notebook if possible by checking the Notebook driver page.

No sound in speakers

Sometimes the speaker internally disables itself when another audio device is connected (i.e. headphones or external speakers) and need to be reenabled from Control Panel. Try this.
