You will need to program it to your cable box to change channels. Remember, the channels in your tv are coming from your box, so if the remote can't control the box, you won't be able to change channels. Call charter for help on programming remote to cable box.

I had the same problem here this week. The manual I have tells you how to manually program the control for the TV, DVD, Home-Theater, scanning the frequencies. But, it don't tells you how to reprogram the control for the Box itself if you mess with it's code. To manual here gives you codes to choose witch appliance you want to program 1 for TV, 2 for DVD and 3 for HT. But it don't tell that 0 is to program the box it self. Choose 0 (zero) and scan the frequencies until your Box respond to the control.

Why doesnt the volume on my remote control work?

The wrong code on the remote has been used. Though some codes will work parts of the system only the right code will operate all.
If you don't know the code for the TV, then you will have to try ALL the codes until you find one that operates all the controls.

Need remote code for LC420SS8

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your home entertainment device does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
For example, after trying all of the codes for your TV, you still cannot get the remote control to operate your TV, then:
Turn on your TV.
On the remote control, press TV once. Then press and hold Setup until the key blinks twice, then release Setup.
Enter 9 - 9 - 1- 1. The TV key will blink twice.
Note: Substitute 1 with 0 if searching for a Cable code, 2 if searching for a DVD, VCR or PVR and 3 if searching for an Audio device.
Press Power and aim the remote control at the TV and press CH + one or more times until the TV turns off.
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.
Press Setup once to lock in the code. The TV key will blink twice.
To search for the codes of another device, repeat steps 1 to 5, but substitute the AUX key for the auxiliary device you are searching for.

Need Philips Universal Remote Codes for a Sanyo TV

Hi Pamr

Try the Phillips website >HERE< which links to their Universal Remote support centre. Unfortunately you haven't given the details of your actual remote but you should be able to find it and download a manual or email them direct.

Sanyo TVs use all these codes:
0506, 0311, 0612, 0002,
0428, 0802, 0412, 0619,
0208, 0157, 0292, 0036,
0011, 0370, 0072, 0216,
0217, 0104, 0045, 0009,
0163, 0037,

Sorry there are so many, but one should work.

Best wishes...

Code for Vizio tv

I contacted Vizio the other day. They tell me that they use the same generic codes as LG. I have Suddenlink Cable, formerly Charter, so I still use the Charter remote. My remote only needed 3 digits and I have noticed that many need 4 or 5. I can tell you that the LG code worked for my tv. I can power on/off, volume, and change the channel. All other functions require the manufacture's remote. The code I used is 005. There was also 004 but that did not work on my tv. Hope this helps someone!
