The install disk will not install the drivers for my dlink DWA-556 wireless card. The text for one step has an image over top of it. The only words not cut off say "restart your computer". Before restarting, Windows 7 (64-bit) tells me that the D-Link installer program is keeping it from shutting down and ends the program before continuing to shut down. Help?

SOURCE: DWL-122 driver not installing, device not recognized

The wireless adapter will not show on the My Computer. Try to right click the My Computer icon go to properties, then go to Hardware tab then click the device manager button, click the + sign beside the Network Adapters category and check if you have the adapter listed there. If the adapter is listed check if the driver is installed properly by going to the properties of the card.

You may want to check your power supply and make sure that it meets the requirements for your system, a lack of sufficient power can ofter cause a computer to restart or freeze.

Your card uses 15 dBm ± 2dB
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16833127145

If this is a laptop, make sure to plug in the machine as power is limited while your laptop is unplugged.

If you've done all the math and the power supply isn't the problem, you may wish to try your card in another pc. If the card doesn't take in either machine, you should contact d-link and ask for a replacement.

SOURCE: D Lin Air Plus G Utility will not open

What is the operating system on the computer ?
You said that you installed the drivers on the computer for the adapter.
If the OS is Win XP or VISTA then you don't need the utility to connect to the network.
Windows has it's own utility to connect to the network.
go to start = go to control panel = go to network connection = you will see wireless network connection
if you right click and go to view available wireless network.
First check the Device Manager.
Click Here for more info about the networking

SOURCE: wireless adapter not found please plug-in the DWA-120

After uninstalling it completely from the computer. When you plug in the adapter alone. You must get the "Found New Hardware" wizard. And nothing else apart from this. Only then it is correct. If nothing comes up at all, the device is dead or your version of USB might USB 1.0 or USB 1.1 which at times has issues. But if you see that wizard coming up, unplug the adapter and insert CD and run setup and walk through it.

Anyway, i ll recommend that you try this adapter on other NEW computer(laptop or desktop), just to check.
I feel that this adapter would work on a new computer, maybe your computer's hardware specifications are old to support this device.

I have windows 7 and my d-link PCI adapter is not working. the LED is not on and i cant connect, or even see, any wireless networks and windows 7 says my wireless is disabled. I've tried using the CD...

Hello
You might want to try the latest drivers from the main dlink homepage. I took me the liberty to find them for you.
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa556/Drivers/dwa556_drivers_140.zip
You press that link and download it. It's in a zip compressed format. So unless windows can unpack it for you after opening it you will need a decompressing tool like WinZip or WinRar
Once you've downloaded it you can follow this quick guide.

Good Luck! If you still need a hand just post here again.

Wireless adaptor is not found

Here's a link to the product info page:

http://www.dlink.com.au/products/?pid=722

And here's a link to download drivers and manuals/setup guides for your device.

http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/Download/download.aspx?product=DWA-125

Try downloading and installing the drivers for your operating system (Windows 7, Mac OSX, etc)

To Install (Windows)

1. Extract the files using a .zip program such as winzip or winrar

2. Go to: Start > Control Panel > Device Manager

3. Try to locate your device
If found, right click and select properties
Select: Driver > Update Driver > Browse My Computer > Let Me Pick > Have Disk > Browse
Navigate to the extracted driver file and select the .inf in that folder

I need an install disk for my usb wireless adapter. I lost my disk.

OK... Just download the driver/software revision matching your USB adapter (have a look on it's sticker. If no revision is noted, then it's simply DWA-130!):

DWA-130:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa130/Drivers/dwa130_drivers_130.zip

DWA-130_revB:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa130_revB/Drivers/dwa130_revB_drivers_200.zip

DWA-130_revD:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa130_revD/Drivers/dwa130_revD_drivers_100.zip

DWA-130_revE:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dwa130_revE/Drivers/dwa130_revE_drivers_510.zip

I assumed you're using a Windows OS...

This should be the one;

The one below the parent directory.
If it's helped, please write a little testimonial.

Speed is g instead of n

The wireless access point or router you are connection to probably does not support n and you wireless card is backward compatable so it will still be able to connect to the wireless access point/router.

DWA-643 installed but unable to access any wireless point

check the status of the device under Device Manager first and see if it was properly installed. If yes, you may use the wireless zero configuration utility built-in to XP or Vista. If your OS is lower than XP you have the use the utility provided by D-link. It usually comes with a CD installer for its driver and utility.

Please rate and see if it helps. Thanks and goodluck.
