Can faulty microwave timer makes it not to heat

Yes it can but it really depends on the brand and model you have. The timer board sends power to a relay on the the timer board, that relay sends power to the Hi Voltage section of the Microwave. Unless your microwave has an inverter and things are a bit different. Best way is to see if there is power getting to the primary of the Hi Volt transformer, if your unit has one. If there is power, the timer is working properly. If not, Bad Board, bad switches. ect.

Microwave would cut off after a few minutes and then turn back on but now there is no power at all.

There are few reasons for this fault, but the main is that you need to open your microwave oven and first check the Fan which is connected at the back which cools the magnetron.
If this fan fails thus results in magnetron being overheated and the thermal cutoff gets open circiut and shuts down whole power of your microwave oven.
Check your fan motor test it straight with direct power
Also check the thermal cutoff.

Let me know after you have done those checkups

Not heating

Hello

Power Supply

Check whether there is a proper power supply. Look to see whether the cord is connected to a grounded 3-prong outlet and the cord is fully plugged in. If the electrical system is built-in and no power cord is visible, replace or reset the household fuse or circuit breaker.

Microwave Functions

Some basic microwave operational steps may affect whether the microwave is heating. Open and close the microwave door, as the unit will not function with the door open, and push "Stop/Clear" to cancel any previous settings, such as the timer, which do not heat the microwave oven.

Setting the Microwave

Once the power to the microwave has been reset, or verified as working, and the microwave is ready to run, select a new cook cycle and press "Start" to see if the microwave begins to run and cook food as expected. Allow the food to cook for the alloted time and then open the microwave door and check to see if the food has cooked or heated. Choose a longer cooking time and restart the microwave if food is heating but is cooking slowly.

Repair

If all efforts to troubleshoot the function and power to the microwave still do not get the appliance heating food as expected, there may be a repair issue that needs to be addressed. Contact professional technician for advice.

Microwave seems to not be getting power, I tried difference electrical outlets. Is there a fuse that could possibly need changed?

Yes there is internal fuse inside the system. If you are hand enough you can take the top cover off and follow the incoming power cord. Before the huge transformer there will be a fuse.
YOU MUST DISCONNECT POWER AS PART OF ELECTRICAL SAFETY.

MCO160 microwave and cook vent appliance problem--there was a power surge and now only the light works--is there a reset button?

no reset button. if you are getting lights that means you are getting power and all your fuses are good. you may have a bad control board caused by the surge

Microwave won't let me reset power level settings. Power level of 1 only

There is a part called a triac, it is responsible for switching power levels in the microwave oven, when it becomes defective it won't let you get passed the first setting, the semiconductor must be replaced in order for it to work at full capacity.

Microwave has no power

inside the microwave there is a low voltage power supply that powers the computer and display ... that is not working in your case .. if there is no low voltage power then nothing else will work .. there are several possible causes .. you can have a blown fuse on the low voltage power supply board (usually the main and only board) ... there is also a thermal fuse ... if the microwave magnitron got exceptionally hot then it could trip the thermal fuse .. this would kill power to everything else ... high magnitron tempratures can be caused by blocked air flow or running the microwave with nothing in it ... once the thermal fuse is tripped it has to be replaced ...there is also an over temperature switch that simply shuts off the power until the system cools , but this is self reseting unless it goes bad .. inside the microwave oven electronics are the most dangerous combination of high voltage and high current you will likely encounter in your life .. you simply have to know what you are doing in there ... this combination can be fatal in a fraction of a second ... your problem is inside there where its dangerous .. the low voltage supply and computer are not dangerous but the voltage they control is .. .. all parts that can cause this trouble are available for most microwaves so yes its repairable but think twice before opening .the case .. there are microwave repair centers around here .. the cost may or may not be reasonable since new microwaves are available for really good prices right now ....

Microwave not getting power

Unplug the microwave oven from the surge protector and plug it directly into a working outlet. If the microwave now works you will know that it is the surge protector that is not working. If the microwave still doesnt work you may want to trash it and just get a new one as they are now much cheaper, many around 50 dollars, and more efficiently use power.
