SOURCE: Dryer runs but doesn't heat up when sttings call for heat.

You may need to do some troubleshooting. This can be done with the machine unplugged - you may have to activate the start switch, belt switch (if it has one) and the motor centrifugal switch manually.
Tip for troubleshooting 220v systems - clip one lead of a ohm meter to either L1 or L2 on the terminal block. It doesn't matter which one. According to the tech sheet (under console) follow the path for current from your clipped terminal, through the heating element, to the opposite terminal. All the readings should be less than 100 ohms, until you reach the failed part. Confirm failure by disconnecting a lead from the suspected part, and test only that part.

Live troubleshooting is sometimes slightly easier, but much more dangerous than the procedure described above. - It is definitely not recommended for beginners, or for professionals, if it can be avoided.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite He3 electrical dryer runs but it does not heat up

odd but it worked for me!! Try resetting the circuit breaker. It will not appear to have blown, this is because only 1/2 the breaker needs resetting, This is much cheaper to try before calling for service or parts. My 2002 E3t has only had this problem once and the resetting worked without further issues for 2 years now. Good luck

I have a kenmore elite electric dryer that keeps giving a ce error code.i replaced heating element, all termostats aall the thermosters. could the motor be bad

As a test, try a lower temperature setting and see if problem still occurs.

Does the dryer seem to radiate more heat than usual? If yes, then the heating element relay may be stuck closed. Or there could be severe blockage inside dryer itself.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

If you have already tried cleaning the vent then the problem is with the Thermal fuse. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test the fuse for continuity before replacing, if the fuse is fine then please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My Kenmore Elite dryer works except there is no heat to dry.I am looking for suggestions to repair. Thanks

There is a moister sensor in your dryer that detects any lint build up inside the exhaust vents. If any obstruction is inside the exhaust tubes this sensor will put the heat in the check mode. Inspect and clean thoroughly and see if it will heat up again

If exhaust is blocked or restricted from back of dryer to outside of home it will cause the dryer to over heat the high limit switch. Repeated overheating will weaken the over load switch and it will need to be replaced if normal operation can not resume without restriction. Sea Breeze
