SOURCE: volume controls

Just sorted it. The solution is a touch long winded but it worked for me.

Sorry for the delay in replying but i THINK have have the solution which I got of the Saitek forums.
I have had the same problem with VOLUME controls on two MS keyboards and a logitech, this worked a treat.

So what do you need to do?
FIRSTLY check Control Panel->Administative tools->Component services and click "Services (local)", on the RHS look for "HID input service" under STATUS it should say STARTED, if it DOES im not 100% if this will help but try anyway. If it DOESN'T this should work.

Go to START->RUN and type REGEDIT and navigate your way to the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidServ\Parameters

If there is a file called "ServiceDll" delete it (make a copy obviously and stick it on your desktop or something). Right click in the RHS of the page and create a NEW->Expandable String Value.
Call it "ServiceDll" (exactly as typed here without quotes), and make the value read "%SystemRoot%\System32\hidserv.dll" (without quotes). Now exit out of Reg edit and go back to Control Panel->Administative tools->Component services. Next to HID input service right click in the gap under STATUS and press START. Close properly and your volume should now work.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000 v 1.0 volume keys not working

On 32-bit machines: Use the windows search feature to find "hidserv.dll." Once located, copy the file and paste it into the %systemroot%\system32\ directory. Open the "Run" dialog box by keying the windows + R. Type "services.msc" and hit enter. Locate the HID Input Service. Right click and click "start." This should solve the issue!!

Media keys are reprogrammable. Use the CD that came with the keyboard and refer to the user manual for instructions.

You may also contact the tech support for your keyboard to assist you.

Have a great day!

How to print a page that has no print option

Hi -Welcome to FixYa.
To print a page a page that has no print option, you can use the keyboard shortcut, CTRL+ P keys (just the control and P at the same time) on your keyboard. It will bring up the printer window or it will bring up your print preview screen depending on what your default print setting is set to. I have mine set for print preview before printing. I hope this helps you. Post a comment if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa and have a great day.

Please tell me how to Print screen on a Microsoft ARC keyboard. There is a print screen above the Home button in blue but NO function button?

Actually there is no separate PrtScn key on the Arc keyboard. The print screen is a Function key combo.

Fn + Home

To capture the active window only it is Alt + Fn + Home

I don't know how to print screen from my Eee PC! please help :)

Have you ever pressed the PrtScn (print screen) key on your Windows keyboard and wondered why it was there since it never seemed to do anything? Well, it does do something! It copies an image of your screen onto the "clipboard," ready to paste into any graphics program. These steps show you how to use it along with Windows' standard image editor, Microsoft Paint, to save an image of your screen

Can this one be used for windows XP?

Yes. Running XP Media Center with SP-3 in a ZALMAN HD-160 case. But I had to buy the MS iR receiver (model 1040 - $35 Cdn) to get the qwerty keys working. MS Cumulative Correctives don't work.
