When I try to boot my computer, it says setup entry key detected when I press f2 and network boot key detected if I press f12. I don't remember putting any such passwords. OS is Windows XP.how to fix?

The function keys you mentioned are part of the BIOS itself. They are written into the BIOS firmware. If you are saying that there is a password associated WITH those keys, then that was added later by some user. It would be stored in the BIOS though, not part of the OS.

Got an Acer 4050 from ebay and it goes straight to enter boot password

can you click on f12 before it goes to boot password?
The F12 Boot Menu allows you to choose which device that you would like to boot the computer's Operating System from by pressing the F12 key during the computer's Power On Self Test, or POST process. Some notebook and netbook models have the F12 Boot Menu disabled by default.
If this sounds like your problem then try this:
If this sounds like
To enable the F12 Boot Menu:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Press the F2 key to enter computer's BIOS Setup during Power-On Self-Test, or POST, process while the Acer logo is being displayed.
  3. Press the Right Arrow key to select Main
  4. Select F12 Boot Menu
  5. Press the Enter key
  6. Select Enabled
  7. Press the Enter key
  8. Press the F10 key and then press the Enter key to save the changes and restart the computer.
Note: Not all Acer notebooks or netbooks have the F12 Boot Menu feature. Computers that do not have the F12 Boot Menu feature will not be able to enable the feature within the BIOS. I hope this works for you if not, then the problem is obviously not the boot menu. Go to Acer support for more help

In nova net pc with intel D945GCLF Mother board , it does not boot the system with windows, and want to flash the bios , its not supporting with usb boot, cd,dvd booting ? , then how we install windows in...

while booting up it must be giving you an option to enter the cmos setup with hitting either f8 key or del key or f10 key. Just hit the key at the appropriate time and enter the advance setup in the cmos setup and go to boot devices and select the priority you wish. In some cases the hard drive and cd rom have jumper settings for putting them in master and slave mode. just read on the drive label and set your cd rom to master and your hdd to slave and you will be able to boot through cd and instal windows.

Intel D945GCLF - No post, No video Signal

Sounds like your wiring isnt right on the on off power. Make sure your power supply can handle this MotherboardAdapter cables are available that allow the incorrect use of older ATX or SFX power supplies in place of an ATX12V or SFX12V power supply. Intel does not recommend the use of these cables. These cables convert a standard 1x4 peripheral connector to the ATX12V 2x2 connector. An ATX12V or SFX12V with the 2x2 connector is required for all Pentium® 4 processor based Intel® Desktop Boards. Using the 1x4 converter cables can lead to system component or power supply damage and/or boot failures. The ATX12V and SFX12V power supply design guides (http://www.formfactors.org/)* recommend a minimum of 8A at 12Volts to properly power any Pentium 4 processor based Intel® Desktop Board. Standard ATX and SFX power supplies typically provide approximately 5A of current, which is not capable of reliably powering the Pentium 4 processor based Intel® Desktop Board. And I think the motherboards going to look for a formatted hard drive wired to the motherboard It wont boot off that USB stick.

Administrator password help/ password boot cd

Hello pink,

In order for your PC to read your CD on boot, you don't have to enter your BIOS settings. When you start your computer, press the F12 button repeatedly (like F12-F12-F12-F12), and your pc will ask you which boot device you would like to use.
http://ice.he.net/~hedden//images/F2_for_Setup_Dell.jpg

It will show you a screen like this:
http://www.prime-expert.com/ebcd/img/bios8.png

Just select your CDROM in the list, and hit enter. this will read your bootable CD.

I hope this helps.
Jerry.
